I owned a W plate (2000) L9. Thing was awesome. Only issue was long distance riding as I'm 6ft, used to get a little cramped. Absolutely beautiful in the corners tho, and pretty bloody quick if you revved it well. If you're on a restricted (33hp) licence the insurance company don't ask for the restriction certificate so I had it full power with a full race exhaust system fitted. Absolutely gutted that I had to sell her
no, they build the zxr 400 till 1999 but they had a bunch left at the factory so you could order them till 2002. the frame numbers go onley to ''L9'' ;)
I had one of these zxr 400, good first bike but my god the are uncomfortable, after riding GSXR SRAD, CBR600F, ZX6R, R6, the ZXR400 is the most uncomfortable to ride by long way but the handle soooo good, yes they are very old and very long in the tooth now but they are great fun when they are working properly. Mine unfortunately was a money pit, looks like I bought one that hadn't been well looked after before I had it so loads of engine issues 🙄 I never bought a 400 again. 600's are so much better and more reliable. The ZX6R G/I Model is a perfect just from a ZXR400, they 6R is more comfy, not much heavier, easier to ride because your not half as cramped. The power is obviously right there unlike the ZXR400 where you have to rev the shit out of it to take off... Nice bike though dude 👍
@@liam-lh2nm zxr 400's are very long in the tooth now mate, mainly reliability issues, overheating, battery drain issues, running very lump (carbs need balancing a lot) starting an old kawasaki in winter can be a piss take too. If I was you I would buy one with anymore than 30k on it. Mine had 62k and was very unloved by previous owners
@@JustinD93 my main concern is engine seizures i cant be doing with that too much money to do monthly and cold start not too bad because I would not be riding it till February so i just hope its either really bad i dont buy it or its really good and i buy a good bike because i would be pissed if i swapped my insurance over for a piece of shit
@@liam-lh2nm well in all honesty mate that's what happened with mine in end, engine seized and it wasn't worth putting another shitty second hand engine in my advice is get a zx6r 98-02. Cheap enough. Very good bikes all round. I've even owned a big old zx9r too. And even now I'd still rather have another zx6r ninja they are much more fun and useable everyday
