Using the plastic cylinder was ingenious! It made it so i could really see the way you positioned your hands, so helpful! Along with cutting open the cylinder, also very helpful‼👍. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher for all of us that are wanting to become better potters💞❣

So incredibly clearly explained! Thank you for taking the time to cut cross-sections to show hand positioning and relationship at each step. I'm a beginner student and it's really helpful to see each step dissected and repeated. I've been watching your videos for about a month now and I've incorporated a lot of your lessons into my practice pieces. Thank you so much, you are a very patient teacher!

How did 69 people thumbs-down this? I learned a great deal from this. It's obvious he's using a soft "diva clay" that's like throwing cream cheese. I'm going to try holding my hands like that and see if I can solve my cylinder stabilization problem.

THANK YOU for explaining each step and hand position clearly, especially by cutting the cylinder in half, and using the clear cylinder, that was SO helpful!!! This is by far THE BEST throwing video I have seen on TH-cam. I too learned the right thumb method when I took classes in France and find it really natural after the first few times, but I like how you position your hand even better than how I learned. Cheers!

The most excellent throwing instruction video I've ever seen! Very helpful, thank you!
Is that about 3 pounds of clay? I notice in most You Tube videos potters seldom tell us how much clay they are using, unless the size of the clay mound is the focus of the demonstration. I wish that all demo's would begin by telling us the amount of clay as well as the clay body being thrown.
In this video, it appears you've accomplished a very impressive size vase in relation to the amount of clay you began with! You are a master of porcelain clay, and the form is perfect, too. Bravo!
