It is the replacement to the previous Stagecoach West 132 Bus Line from Gloucester to Newent and Ledbury and the cut back with a reduced section on the Gloucester to Newent and Ross-on-Wye service 32 Bus Line. From the Stagecoach West planning Gloucester to Ross-on-Wye is mostly served by the 33 Bus Line which goes to Hereford Railway station. The 32 Bus Line by mostly links Gloucester to Newent. There is a very infrequent service from Newent via Gorsley and Upton Bishop to Ross. When is Stagecoach took the Newent to Ledbury service off by closing the 132. Travel from Newent to Ledbury had to be made by Bus to Gloucester and then train to Ledbury.
When Red & White ran the services which was a subsidiary of National Welsh/Cymru Cenedlaethol, the 34 Bus Line ran from Gloucester to Newent, Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Raglan, Usk and Newport. Times have changed with truncation of bus routes.

The Ledbury and Gloucester Railway was known as the Daffodil Line.
The Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal, which was inaugurated in 1798. The canal was leased to the Great Western Railway (GWR) in 1863 as the canal was struggling financially. Conversion to a railway began in 1881. The railway was built by two companies: the Newent Railway and the Ross and Ledbury Railway. Colonel F. H. Rich inspected the line in July 1885, and it officially opened on 27 July. The GWR operated the railway, eventually merging with both smaller companies in 1892.
In 1948 the railway became part of British Rail ways. The line closed to passenger traffic in 1959 with the Dymock to Gloucester section remaining open to goods traffic until 1964.
The DRM Bus Ltd company is based in Bromyard in Herefordshire. The Daffodil Line crosses the boundaries of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. The Wild Daffodils can be found around the area.
