Thanks ever so much and hopefully they have got their act together by then. We've had two bad experiences with TUI this year but minor compared to some of the things we've read and seen. Have a lovely Christmas ❤️
Aah guys you handled that situation in a much calmer way than I would have done. I think if I’d heard “13-15 hour flight” I would have looked like a wreck with tears down my face as I really hate flying 😆 You were very dignified and I’m so pleased it wasn’t as bad as the rumours but still you did so well! Please don’t think people won’t watch your Vlogs if they aren’t Orlando. I’d love any of your holidays to watch 🥰
LOL, TUI moved to Melbourne stating that its easy!...I read time and time again ( also have TUI crew friends, ex Britannis myself) of problems here.Just wait till the cruise passengers start!
I honestly wonder what is going on with TUI at the moment. We overheard lots of complaints between the cabin crew about how things are being run. Hopefully they get things sorted as they used to be great. They should have stuck with Sandford

I really struggle with travelling therefore any kind of delay, detour etc would be my absolutely nightmare and I would have been in a state if I was in that same position. Hi , with tui do you get free shuttle bus service from Melbourne to hotels and back ? I've only ever gone to international airport and always got a car hire or magical express lol
We have travelled with them twice this year and not had a good experience either time. It's a shame as we have used them plenty of times before and they were absolutely great. I hope they manage to get back to their old ways 🤞
Nice to get a few hours in the park on travel day home. What a nightmare, completely get how the uncertainty can bring in the stress. Poor from Tui but great you found people to talk to at the airport to pass the time (otherwise you’d have to talk to each other 🤣) Been great following a long, looking forward to the next trip 😎

What a nightmare with your flight home 😫 a flight got cancelled and half the passengers had to be put on our Manchester flight and the other half onto Gatwick. But like you there was little to no information being put across! Really enjoyed watching this series guys ❤

Hi guys we was on the Gatwick flight , it was terrible from TUI not informing us about anything, via Punta Cana, and then changed our paid for seats , did you claim anything back regarding delays etc , I’ll never fly with TUI again after what happened , thanks guys
The lack of communication was disgusting wasnt it? No point claiming I don't think - they have said the issues were weather related. We wouldn't ever fly with them again either. Hmmm tui ..we waited at dockside with all the people who was on our flight ..our names wasn’t on that coach ,he wouldn’t let us on ,,,we messaged tui they said he’d come back and pick us up ,he never did ,,we ended up on another coach from a different travel company who took us to Melbourne,,,our flight w was delayed anyway so we didn’t have to wait to long 7/half hour flight to Manchester,,goin with virgin next may instead 🤪🤪
I've heard so many horror stories about the transfers you wouldn't think it would be that difficult to organise but they are pretty shambolic at the moment 🙈
Tbh we had trouble with virgin pick ups coming back in September the problem seems to be with mears, they never picked us up and I had paid for a private taxi
We stayed at Royal Pacific and they dropped us off at the side door for the shuttle buses so went back there for the transfer back to the airport . Unfortunately the bus picked up from the front of the hotel so we missed it, they also said they tried to phone us which they didn’t. We ended up getting an Uber and spoke to a Tui staff member at the airport which ended up being pointless so messaged them through the app on on return. They refunded us the £95 Uber fee straightaway as they didn’t specify the pick up point.
Just caught up with the Vlog 👏👏👏 (Orlando Informer night was fantastic BTW) Looking forward to seeing the Vlog where the record player is installed at home 🤣🤣 Have a wonderful Christmas
That sounds a bit more like it. It definitely wasn't set up for the numbers it handled on the day we were there but it was exceptional circumstances to be fair 👍

The one thing I found disappointing about Universal was the Harry Potter merch. There just weren't very many options that felt exclusive to the parks-most things I could buy for less, elsewhere. I'm going solo in March for Mardi Gras, so this vlog has me feeling extra stoked! TY!

It is all classed as weather related Nicola, the only thing that really got our goat was the lack of any communication. They go on about downloading the TUI app and it is a waste of time. Still, they got us home safely eventually so all was good in the end ❤️
I hear that Punta Cana makes a great holiday destination! You should get a free trip, you mentioned the name on so many occasions. Good P.R. Seriously though, i.m.o. TUI 'suck.' I would never, ever, travel with them again after a couple of bad experiences. I was a real Thomson's gal, but when the German side took over, as far as I'm concerned, that's when the problems, for me anyway, began. It's Jet2 for me now. More luggage allowance as well. When I used to fly to Florida, it was Jetsave, who were fantastic. However, I don't think they are in existence anymore, which is a great shame. For the west coast, I used to use Trailfinders, also an excellent company. Pleased you had a good time, and arrived home safely. Did Jimmy like his haul?
I honestly don't understand what has happened with TUI Marilyn. There are horror stories every day and much worse things than the experiences we have had with them. It's sad to see. Jimmy was very happy with what we came back with for him but he's always been an appreciative little fella. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas. Take care ❤️
I've just caught up with this having had an awful travel home day myself. My flight on Saturday was cancelled (virgin). I was sent to a hotel then had to make my way back to Orlando Airport an hour later for Aer Lingus flight. Communication with Virgin was abysmal, similar to your experience with TUI. I agree that if I had been kept properly informed I could have mentally prepared but once I was rebooked I heard nothing from Virgin. I arrived home 13 hours later than my scheduled arrival time ...I'm guessing Virgin will fob me off as they rebooked me on Aer Lingus
Oh Sarah, that sounds absolutely horrendous. Seems like crap service is the norm with everything these days. Hope you are back in the swing of things now as you must have been exhausted ❤️ x
Your not going to rush to book a holiday to the Dominican then? How stressful for you. I would have had the same level of anxiety. Not communicating is awful especially when you have stuff to organise for when you get home.

Thank you for the last day vlog. Always bitter sweet, not wanting to leave but wanting be home with the kids and pets. Sorry to hear about the flight home, not good. I should have flown home on the Thursday but flight got rescheduled for the Sunday. Bit panicky trying to get the room booked for 3 more days. Luckily got sorted and the airline paid for it. Just cost more spending money. Look forward to the next series. Have a great Xmas. Stay safe.
So glad you are home safe and smiling❤ Jim is correct, on our last Florida trip in September my car ran out of gas on the way to the coach station from Glasgow to Manchester, our coach was then delayed an hour, we were then prepared however dreading the 5 hour coach journey to Manchester and didn’t want to take a train because of the strikes, to then get on the M6 to realise half of it was closed on a Saturday which meant our 5 hours dreaded coach transfer turned into a 15.5 hours coach transfer with little food and little drink (being type 1 diabetic not good😅) and broken toilets. Finally at midnight we got to Manchester airport and stayed in the hotel. Travel days arrived and the flight was delayed by 3 hours, I got called for extra security which took almost 1.5 hours waiting on everyone who had been called, finally on the plane to realise we had an additional 2 hour delay😂😂 jamie and I now laugh about it and had the best holiday ever!

The look back and laugh comment. Ah yes….. I still can’t look back and laugh at the Icelandic volcano eruption trip. We went on holiday for a week and stayed for two on Lanzarote. I remember school ringing us when we were trying to catch up on sleep and saying we are shut as our staff are trapped abroad. Yeah, us too, and she wanted to talk about it 🙄
Sorry to hear you had such a nightmare getting home. You guys and TUI are cursed. Stay well clear from them in future! Did you get any compensation from them due to the chaos they caused without giving you any communication. So ooor.

Top vlog, we sailed through Melbourne top airport, no queues anywhere but different circumstances. Really enjoyed your series, a week is never long enough let alone losing days to hurricanes, am sure you’ll be back before long. I know you would never say but holidays are great without kids !
Thanks a lot Kim. Very kind of you to say. It's a combination of factors- Jimmy is keen to visit new places, cost, exchange rate etc. It will always be our favourite place but Mexico opened our eyes

So sad to see the Florida series end, the vlogs have been really enjoyable! Was lovely to meet you both on the plane as we were about to depart Melbourne, albeit not in the best circumstances 😂 we’ve decided to never fly TUI to Florida again after the experience, the lack of communication combined with the really poor infrastructure at Melbourne is now enough to make us pay that little bit extra to fly Virgin to MCO!

yep welcome to florida after any big storm. this exact thing happens as you are stuck at the airport for a while. you could have waited a day or more after that date and it clears out. try flying Delta next time as its a better company at least they don't screw you and fix whatever you have an issue with.

Take a shot every time Steph says Puntacana 😂 So sorry you had such a rubbish experience, I don't know anyone who has had enjoyable flights this year - don't know if it's because of staffing issues following the pandemic or what. My friends flew BA to/ from Tampa - did not enjoy it at all and theyve flown all over with loads of airlines. Know some people who flew BA into the new Terminal C at MCO - absolute pandemonium, short staffed, not ready for passengers at all. Even our Virgin flight home in May was the worst I've had (not Virgins fault tbf, unwell passenger resulted in an emergency stop in hBoston salf way through adding another 2.5hrs. Plus lots of sick kids and dirty nappies 😨) Virgin is the only airline I would fly with at the moment - seem to be the most reliable. Just want to say thanks for all the vlogs, I really enjoy them and love your vlogging style. I hope you get back to Florida one-day but look forward to your other travels 😃
Creasing at the drinking game idea 😂 I think the pandemic became an easy excuse for a lot of companies and travel has been particularly badly hit. You do wonder if it will ever get back to what it was. Virgin definitely seem to be the pick of the bunch but so expensive. Then again, you do get what you pay for as they say. We have just booked Tui for the very first time for our trip to Florida. We normally fly with Virgin but they stopped flying from Scotland for when we want to go. How did you guys find flying on-board with Tui other than the communication issues? We're they really poor to fly with? I loved flying with Virgin so nervous about having to go with Tui
The flights are usually ok to be fair except they do seem to have had a habit this year of using other airlines to fulfil some flights (we had this when we went to Mexico with them earlier in the year if you've seen that travel day?) That was easily the worst plane I've travelled on. Hopefully you will get one of their own dreamliners to Florida and back 🤞

Hmmm tui ..we waited at dockside with all the people who was on our flight ..our names wasn’t on that coach ,he wouldn’t let us on ,,,we messaged tui they said he’d come back and pick us up ,he never did ,,we ended up on another coach from a different travel company who took us to Melbourne,,,our flight w was delayed anyway so we didn’t have to wait to long 7/half hour flight to Manchester,,goin with virgin next may instead 🤪🤪
I've heard so many horror stories about the transfers you wouldn't think it would be that difficult to organise but they are pretty shambolic at the moment 🙈
Tbh we had trouble with virgin pick ups coming back in September the problem seems to be with mears, they never picked us up and I had paid for a private taxi

We stayed at Royal Pacific and they dropped us off at the side door for the shuttle buses so went back there for the transfer back to the airport . Unfortunately the bus picked up from the front of the hotel so we missed it, they also said they tried to phone us which they didn’t. We ended up getting an Uber and spoke to a Tui staff member at the airport which ended up being pointless so messaged them through the app on on return. They refunded us the £95 Uber fee straightaway as they didn’t specify the pick up point.
Jeez, they really are an absolute shambles. I think they must make it up as they go along! 🙈

I flew back from Melbourne in November 22. The new terminal is open, much bigger with a large’ish bar/restaurant. Security very quick.
That sounds a bit more like it. It definitely wasn't set up for the numbers it handled on the day we were there but it was exceptional circumstances to be fair 👍
Shame about the trip back on a plus at least it wasnt the 13 hour slog rumour.Loving that voodoo and frank t.shirt.Great share have an awesome week 😎👍

The one thing I found disappointing about Universal was the Harry Potter merch. There just weren't very many options that felt exclusive to the parks-most things I could buy for less, elsewhere. I'm going solo in March for Mardi Gras, so this vlog has me feeling extra stoked! TY!

It is all classed as weather related Nicola, the only thing that really got our goat was the lack of any communication. They go on about downloading the TUI app and it is a waste of time. Still, they got us home safely eventually so all was good in the end ❤️
I hear that Punta Cana makes a great holiday destination! You should get a free trip, you mentioned the name on so many occasions. Good P.R.
Seriously though, i.m.o. TUI 'suck.' I would never, ever, travel with them again after a couple of bad experiences. I was a real Thomson's gal, but when the German side took over, as far as I'm concerned, that's when the problems, for me anyway, began. It's Jet2 for me now. More luggage allowance as well.
When I used to fly to Florida, it was Jetsave, who were fantastic. However, I don't think they are in existence anymore, which is a great shame. For the west coast, I used to use Trailfinders, also an excellent company.

I honestly don't understand what has happened with TUI Marilyn. There are horror stories every day and much worse things than the experiences we have had with them. It's sad to see. Jimmy was very happy with what we came back with for him but he's always been an appreciative little fella. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas. Take care ❤️
I've just caught up with this having had an awful travel home day myself. My flight on Saturday was cancelled (virgin). I was sent to a hotel then had to make my way back to Orlando Airport an hour later for Aer Lingus flight. Communication with Virgin was abysmal, similar to your experience with TUI. I agree that if I had been kept properly informed I could have mentally prepared but once I was rebooked I heard nothing from Virgin. I arrived home 13 hours later than my scheduled arrival time ...I'm guessing Virgin will fob me off as they rebooked me on Aer Lingus

Your not going to rush to book a holiday to the Dominican then? How stressful for you. I would have had the same level of anxiety. Not communicating is awful especially when you have stuff to organise for when you get home.

Thank you for the last day vlog. Always bitter sweet, not wanting to leave but wanting be home with the kids and pets. Sorry to hear about the flight home, not good. I should have flown home on the Thursday but flight got rescheduled for the Sunday. Bit panicky trying to get the room booked for 3 more days. Luckily got sorted and the airline paid for it. So glad you are home safe and smiling❤ Jim is correct, on our last Florida trip in September my car ran out of gas on the way to the coach station from Glasgow to Manchester, our coach was then delayed an hour, we were then prepared however dreading the 5 hour coach journey to Manchester and didn’t want to take a train because of the strikes, to then get on the M6 to realise half of it was closed on a Saturday which meant our 5 hours dreaded coach transfer turned into a 15.5 hours coach transfer with little food and little drink (being type 1 diabetic not good😅) and broken toilets. Finally at midnight we got to Manchester airport and stayed in the hotel. Travel days arrived and the flight was delayed by 3 hours, I got called for extra security which took almost 1.5 hours waiting on everyone who had been called, finally on the plane to realise we had an additional 2 hour delay😂😂 jamie and I now laugh about it and had the best holiday ever!

The look back and laugh comment. Ah yes….. I still can’t look back and laugh at the Icelandic volcano eruption trip. We went on holiday for a week and stayed for two on Lanzarote. I remember school ringing us when we were trying to catch up on sleep and saying we are shut as our staff are trapped abroad. Yeah, us too, and she wanted to talk about it 🙄

Top vlog, we sailed through Melbourne top airport, no queues anywhere but different circumstances. Really enjoyed your series, a week is never long enough let alone losing days to hurricanes, am sure you’ll be back before long. I know you would never say but holidays are great without kids !

So sad to see the Florida series end, the vlogs have been really enjoyable! Was lovely to meet you both on the plane as we were about to depart Melbourne, albeit not in the best circumstances 😂 we’ve decided to never fly TUI to Florida again after the experience, the lack of communication combined with the really poor infrastructure at Melbourne is now enough to make us pay that little bit extra to fly Virgin to MCO!
Hi Declan and lovely to meet you too. We have said exactly the same thing and it is true that you get what you pay for sometimes. We would rather pay more to fly in to MCO with Virgin too.

yep welcome to florida after any big storm. this exact thing happens as you are stuck at the airport for a while. you could have waited a day or more after that date and it clears out. try flying Delta next time as its a better company at least they don't screw you and fix whatever you have an issue with.
TUI used to be brilliant before the pandemic but their communication and service since has been terrible. Have a good weekend Andy. All the best 👍

So sorry you had such a rubbish experience, I don't know anyone who has had enjoyable flights this year - don't know if it's because of staffing issues following the pandemic or what.
My friends flew BA to/ from Tampa - did not enjoy it at all and theyve flown all over with loads of airlines.
Know some people who flew BA into the new Terminal C at MCO - absolute pandemonium, short staffed, not ready for passengers at all.
Even our Virgin flight home in May was the worst I've had (not Virgins fault tbf, unwell passenger resulted in an emergency stop in hBoston salf way through adding another 2.5hrs. Plus lots of sick kids and dirty nappies 😨)
Virgin is the only airline I would fly with at the moment - seem to be the most reliable.
Just want to say thanks for all the vlogs, I really enjoy them and love your vlogging style. I hope you get back to Florida one-day but look forward to your other travels 😃

I think the pandemic became an easy excuse for a lot of companies and travel has been particularly badly hit. You do wonder if it will ever get back to what it was. Virgin definitely seem to be the pick of the bunch but so expensive. Then again, you do get what you pay for as they say. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas ❤️

We have just booked Tui for the very first time for our trip to Florida. We normally fly with Virgin but they stopped flying from Scotland for when we want to go.
How did you guys find flying on-board with Tui other than the communication issues? We're they really poor to fly with? I loved flying with Virgin so nervous about having to go with Tui
The flights are usually ok to be fair except they do seem to have had a habit this year of using other airlines to fulfil some flights (we had this when we went to Mexico with them earlier in the year if you've seen that travel day?) That was easily the worst plane I've travelled on. Hopefully you will get one of their own dreamliners to Florida and back 🤞

Have loved this Vlog series but completely understand not wanting to return to Florida with the hike in prices, not until Epic Universe is open at least.
