  • Justin Wolff gives a tour of Los Barriles, home of the Hotel Palmas de Cortez and some of the best fishing anywhere. Only an hour or so from Cabo, many find Los Barriles to be a more relaxed, more enjoyable alternative. Angler West TV has produced around 30 episodes here. Please subscribe and watch them all to learn more. Here are a few samples:
    • Baja Wahoo, Tuna, Ambe...
    • Baja Marlin & Inshore ...
    • Jigging for Odell Lake...

    The fishing village of Los Barriles, Mexico is an adventure lover’s paradise, and the kind of place where one can easily get off the grid. ‘The Barrels’ (as it’s known in Spanish) is on the southeast tip of Baja California Sur, and best known for its kiting spots, sport fishing and laid-back vibe that lures sun-seekers down the area for months at a time.

    My favorite hotel ever! Got married on the beach in front of the pool. Great times over many years. Wish they’d reopen Punta Colorada though. Another great hotel in La Ribera that the Van Wormer family still owns but has been closed for years.

    i live in San Jose Del Cabo 3 months each year...we always travel into Los Barriles. The only things we don't like are the grocery situation, i'd really like to see a Fresco or Mega...Otherwise it's a great place. We usually go to Smokey's for lunch .. there always seems to be stool jockeys who have been drinking since breakfast that stay for hours and hours, but they are on vacation right? That said I love the town too. Thanks for holding me over until I can get down again (Covid and all that) we drive down to San Jose from Oregon.

    Too bad he only hit the places on the main strip, the best spots are the beach front restaurant/bars. Why have a quad if you don't go to the hard to find spots?

    Great video looks like we'll be venturing there while in Cabo only one single issue, the place you wanted to eat, lady makes quesadillas but was closed, always give the name so I know what I'm asking for for directions... thanks

      I was just down there and the quesadillas place was not there but there is another small place in the same location. Just outside the front gate of Palmas de Cortez.

    Wow that’s a trophy race truck that’s some serious coin, those can run you up over 200k, lots to do in such a small place.

    If anyone with experience can answer this question, I'd appreciate it: what's the most convenient airport to fly into to get to Los Barriles: La Paz, or San Jose del Cabo?

    • @AnglerWestTV
      @AnglerWestTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cabo for sure. For transportation to LB you can hire a van from TT Cabo that is operated by Van Wormer Resorts. Another way is by Baja Eco Tours which is also a good way to get to La Paz and other places.

    I spent the winter there in 2022/23, and I didn't like it at all. I've heard it was much better before all the old gringos moved there. I'll never go back.

    Good video except you are not correct about the Tropics comment. The Tropic of Cancer lattitude is approx 30km south of Los Barriles....
