@@deliciousmentalfudge Fitness is an underrated aspect of black metal drumming. I think even a lot of decent athletes couldn't keep up moving each leg nearly twice a second for 10 minutes, in time and whilst doing other things with their hands.
The best part about some metal bands is the way they express their love and respect for some other bands, like Dan is wearing Meshuggah Tee shirt despite the fact that NeObs are themselves extremely talented and successful too. I love Ne Obs.

I now feel 100x more confident about not being at the plateau I was at with drumming because this is basically my favorite drum pattern for the first part. Less is more here for sure and I can't wait to get back on my kit now.

I personally want them to have more presence, so I'll probably be going with a couple of RUDE Power Rides. The last session I did with the Dry Dark was ok, but I just need a little more. I'm some of your studio recordings, I was left wishing I could hear more of that double ride work. Love your parts, and approach!
I feel like this is the exact kit used for the drum machine in Lugal Ki En. It would be freaking fantastic if Dan would do a cover of one of the songs off of Lugal.

zafoulis Yep, exactly these hits :) You can see his stick moving, but the sound of the snare is almost not audible :) I am fascinated by drummers, I know nothing about music or drumming (well, I learned a few words :P), but I like watching them in their craft. Especially when they play super-complex stuff and make it look super fluid and easy. Funny, when I was a teen, I liked guitarists more. Ah well, priorities shift I guess :)
