This has been the best Johns Arcade ever for me!. Sometimes the arcade tours look rushed like you're expecting to get busted and thrown out, which in a way is exciting, but this has been an utter delight, and what a super cool guy was Zespy was with his total enthusiasm for history of gaming and his extraordinary ability to work that into a public accessible facility. Love the food stops before too, I'm in the UK and rarely travel anymore, but this vid has really made me want to visit Chicago. Thanks for a great vid, and for Greg and the guys to tag along :P
Oh man, I'd go broke in the first Logan Hardware building in nothing flat. If I were there with you guys,. once I laid eyes on that big rack of 78's up front in the record building, it'd be game over - I've been collecting 78's for 29 years and I'd be spending the whole day there thumbing through those 78's. Like "Yeah, you guys go check out the games, I'm planting roots right here." LOL! Twice I brought well over 100 pounds of 78's back from New Orleans on my lap on the train to Maricopa, Arizona. ;)
I was watching this on tv and had to pull this video up on my phone just to comment that Greg could be tom greens stunt double lol, awesome video I love your channel John!
Hi, John. I'm Nathan Kail from Fleming Island, FL, & I'm a very huge fan of your channel. I am an arcade game/arcade fanatic just like you. You're doin' a good job, please keep it up.
entertaining video John. i enjoy your jolly personality. Of course the arcade was incredible and the food looked delicious. But the most astonishing thing was the food tray that attached to your car. Mind blown!
Oh hey, that's me scoring that jackpot on Taxi at 1:13:07 I kinda felt like saying hi since I'm a fan of the channel, but at the same time felt it might've been a bit rude. If you ever decide to head out to the SF area, perhaps I can introduce myself for reals if you decide to head out to Free Gold Watch
+John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech I wish I would have known about this place. I was in Chicago a few weeks ago for business and would have stopped in both stores. Awesome to see this! I stopped in 1Up when I was in Denver last spring because of your video. Love this channel.
I laughed when it was explained that the goal of the Pig Out game was to eat as many calories as you can, when in the first half of the video that was exactly what you guys were doing :) Real life Pig Out!
whats up john!!! i enjoy all the videos but the roadtrip and food vids are the best!!! cant wait for part 2!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Really great video John .. one of your best i think. Loved all the food stuff and you and Greg on camera together are really funny ( you should do more vids with arcade impossible)
Loved the video, however you made me leave my bed to go to the kitchen and make a late night snack...That pizza looked so good that I almost made a pizza bagel in the middle of the night!!
Just found this channel a few days ago. Really enjoying the vids. If I may make an out-of-left-field compliment, one of the things I enjoy most about your vids is the fact that they look like they actually take place on planet earth. I know that sounds weird, but look at every other TV show and video being produced now--apparently radioactive day-glow colors are very trendy. Extreme contrasts where human beings look like orange Ooompa-Loompas, and the landscape is this cold alien dimension. ...But your videos are like how I remember television shows used to be--nice and pleasant and natural looking. People have identifiable flesh tones and they exist on a planet I recognize.
Hahaha that part cracks me at about 22:15. John: "What? You want it plain. No. No. No. Okay, get 3 super dogs with everything, and one plain, for the kid over here." It's like John is frustrated with it. You can't have a hot dog of this caliber, and on this trip of good eats and get ... get ... a plain super dog. You should of just ordered him something of the kids menu for him. lol jk
2:19 Haha! I know where that is, I use to use that off ramp all the time to go to college. I can't believe I've never heard of logan's before, it's so neat.
John, great video! I'm originally from 312/708/847 and truly miss it. I miss the food most of all! Please please please tell me that you will include any footage of Portillos in part 2 if you have any. Really enjoy your work!
Me and the owner of that logan hardware would be good buds i absolutely love collecting vinyl and video games and to be able to play some arcades if you buy some records sounds like a match made in heaven to me
Wow just wow. Retro music store with a secret arcade in the back and then down the street a huge arcade bar with a Tron deadly discs you can sit inside! The Galaga 88 was glanced past too quickly it's one of the best of it's genre. Wow those games in the very back room pristine pinball the soviet pilot game and the prototype in the back dream destination arcade!
Your best video to date the Bromance between you guys is amazing ! And the arcade you visited is probably the best to date that guy is a true fan I hope he opens many more ! Why can't we have that in uk? whyyyyyyy!
absolutely no cheese on white castle burgers ever! The steamed bun melds to the beef and onions to form a soggy substance that transcends what cheese ever could be.
Discs of Sausage, that's not anything like Discs of TRON, is it? :P Digging the electronic museum! I had an electronic Entex SUPER COBRA growing up it was huge! Would love to find one off ebay someday! oh lord the 'homework first' haha... like you couldn't just take the door off and render it useless, am I right? :P 1:03:58 yo I heard you like TRON, so we put a tron joystick on your tron legacy pinball so you can play TRON while you play TRON Legacy! :P Also, does that russian one have a name?! It looks really neat but I didn't see a title anywhere, or was that still to be determined? I had heard about Killer Queen though... sounds like a really fun one!!
I am watching this at work and now I am hungry for White Castle. I think they have some frozen ones in a vending machine, not the same but it might have to do for now.....
+Chuck12 - I was overwhelmed with everything, that tour was so awesome. I actually thought to myself too, "I feel like I should participate...no, Johns got this, I'll just enjoy the heck out of this tour". lol
Awesome, love the white castle. Logans says they got the largest selection of 45's but when i was there i didnt see a single handgun. Very disappointed.
Hey John, Looking forward to your year end review. For this year, would you consider also having a video with clips some of the various trips and events you had throughout '15? Thanks
Some comments as a former Chicago area resident: 1) I love Lou Malnati's but the buttery crust wreaks havoc with my stomach... the original Pizzeria Uno or Due is my favorite thick crust pizza, 2) Zespy's collection is intense... you completely skipped over a Star Wars Cockpit?!?! Love Logan's Hardware and Arcade... best collection of classic games in the Chicago area, 3) White Castle is "OK", 4) I love Superdawg... best hot dog I have ever had... and those pickled tomatoes are very tasty. Portillo's is a Chicago hot dog staple, of course, 5) The new Level 257 is right by Gameworks in Woodfield Mall... CHECK IT OUT!!!
On another note... I recommend checking out Underground Retrocade and Galloping Ghost Arcade (AFTER they complete the expansion) again because a ton has changed at both places since your last visit. UR now has two floors with games (130 or so in total) and GGA has been doing a lot of updating of Classic games to dedicated original cabinets.
Will you ever come to Portland, OR? I'd like to meet you and show off my custom made pinball machine that I am making from scratch. No I am not re-theming a game I am starting from scratch I'll make the cab and the circuitry myself! :) Also if you do come we have to go to Ground Kontrol Arcade that is near me. :)
@Johnsarcade have you guys done a review on the Galloping Ghost Arcade & Pinball in the suburbs of Chicago in Brookfield??? It has 900 plus video games and 40 pinball machines in 2 different buildings 2 blocks apart
Hey, John, interesting timing, to go out there and back just a few days before Thanksgiving. :-) I like that your vehicle is a stickshift! So is my blue 2001 4X4 Dodge Dakota (pickup)! But if you were just gonna "drive there" (implying all the way there -- and of course your Cruiser is with you), then why is there a shot from inside an airplane? Also, why do you call that an "Explorer" (a Ford model) if it's really an FJ Cruiser (Toyota)?
Ahh, okay! I'll have to go rewatch the video where I think I found that and pay closer attention to the detail there. Happy Black Friday! How was your Thanksgiving?
this is awesome! I have 1 machine myself, vs. Super Mario Bros.. I want to expand my collection but it's soooo expensive!! (im only 14 btw, not easy to make money)
I was wondering if you could/would do an '"On The Road" video at a place called Jumperz Fun Center here in Fleming Island, Florida. It has bowling, tactical laser tag, & our personal favorite, an arcade. Please take that into consideration.
You guys crack me up, im hungry for Pizza now. Then Hot Dogs, you fat fookers lol. I mean that in a jovial way too guys. Love ya bro im moving to the US man.

My two favorites! Records & vintage video games. This guy is living my dream.

Outstanding food choices, awesome arcade visits! Thanks for sharing.

Hi, John. I'm Nathan Kail from Fleming Island, FL, & I'm a very huge fan of your channel. I am an arcade game/arcade fanatic just like you. You're doin' a good job, please keep it up.
This is how it should be done! Amazing arcade(s) and a cool guy!!! Love it!
Where are you John we miss you come back

I stopped in 1Up when I was in Denver last spring because of your video.
Love this channel.
Still watching - great so far. Congrats Greg on the Robotron - That is awesome! Enjoy your trip and Happy Thanksgiving.
I laughed when it was explained that the goal of the Pig Out game was to eat as many calories as you can, when in the first half of the video that was exactly what you guys were doing :) Real life Pig Out!
Way to go Greg!!!! I had no idea he had won the Robotron mini off eBay!!!!!!!!!!! Love the Logan's Hardware places!!!!!!!!!!!
whats up john!!! i enjoy all the videos but the roadtrip and food vids are the best!!! cant wait for part 2!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Really great video John .. one of your best i think. Loved all the food stuff and you and Greg on camera together are really funny ( you should do more vids with arcade impossible)
+Stuart Sumner I love John. #bromance The more vids we can do together the better.
Fantastic video, one of my favorites. Definitely have to hit that place up when I am in Chicago again.
Loved the video, however you made me leave my bed to go to the kitchen and make a late night snack...That pizza looked so good that I almost made a pizza bagel in the middle of the night!!
Great episode! Loved all the food and that barcade looks sweet! Greetings from Seattle.
I definitelly love your videos :-) Favourite vlogger for now :-)

Happy Thanksgiving man!
Many thanks for all your awesome videos.
Nice to hear Amidar getting a mention, my favourite arcade game ever! :)
+Harolds Stuff Amidar was the first color game I ever seen. The first "upgrade experience" I had in my life. I'll never forget this :-)
I'm so hungry, thanks John and Gregg! :) Logan Arcade - legit place!
That was a chill guy, he's got a bad ass collection of games.
Zespy, the owner, is one cool cat. I loved him instantly.

Don't you dare letting me wait for a week for part 2!!!

+Henry Swanson I like this. Good idea. :)
+Henry Swanson Best idea, ever.
+Henry Swanson your channel name should be "totally funny "man" makes stupid commments"
John thanks for the tour video. Logan Hardware looks like it rocks. I will definitely make it a stopping spot if I'm ever in Chicago.
Congrats on the win!
I'd be a hell of a lot more excited than that for winning that machine.
we don't have White Castle in Montreal, but this reminds me of Indianapolis and you just gave me graving for those tiny burgers
2:19 Haha! I know where that is, I use to use that off ramp all the time to go to college.

Me and the owner of that logan hardware would be good buds i absolutely love collecting vinyl and video games and to be able to play some arcades if you buy some records sounds like a match made in heaven to me
Can't wait for part 2...............And John if your ever in the Lowell area you need to try Elliot's hot dogs , if you haven't already.
Never had it. I'll keep it in mind!
man that logans arcade and it´s owner are super cool O_O
I was at a superdawg not too long ago, when I went to the pinball expo. Never knew about it until then, good place.
I had a superdawg when I went to Pinball Expo. It was great.
John u have an awesome life, love to share in like this. Greg needs to make more vids, he's great
Dude! You NEED cheese on the Slider! That is the HALLMARK of a true GOOD slider!
The yoke on that vector game looks like the same one used in the gunner's station on an Abrams main battle tank.
Wow just wow. Retro music store with a secret arcade in the back and then down the street a huge arcade bar with a Tron deadly discs you can sit inside! The Galaga 88 was glanced past too quickly it's one of the best of it's genre. Must be one of the most enjoyable Videos ever,by the way is Part 2 the Stern Pinball factory one ?
+Realmasterorder Yes, the Stern tour is indeed part #2!
I am watching this at work and now I am hungry for White Castle. I think they have some frozen ones in a vending machine, not the same but it might have to do for now.....
Had to skip alot of this

Miss these videos
Dat vector game! I sooooo wanna play it!
I remember when this video was first put on TH-cam 😢
Greg turns into "silent man" during the arcade tours....lol
+Chuck12 - I was overwhelmed with everything, that tour was so awesome. I actually thought to myself too, "I feel like I should participate...no, Johns got this, I'll just enjoy the heck out of this tour". lol
+arcadeimpossible - We know, it's all about John..... lol
Dr dude pinball so jealous have wanted one since I was a kid and played it for hours and hundreds of dollars with my dad
Phet and Joe should give you crap for eating the bun on that slider! So much for the diet this week, John. :-)
I went for broke. An annual Chicago tradition. I had the hot dog buns last year too. :)
Arcade guy was a super cool dude.
Lou Malnati’s made its way in to Wisconsin. If I’m not mistaken, there are five as of recent.
Awesome, love the white castle. Logans says they got the largest selection of 45's but when i was there i didnt see a single handgun. Very disappointed.
Another great vid, thanks -watching in the UK! whats with the hot dog place spelt Superdawg? help! Superdog!?!?
Hey John, Looking forward to your year end review. For this year, would you consider also having a video with clips some of the various trips and events you had throughout '15? Thanks
Yeah. That sounds fun.
I just subscribed John. my first vid I watched was ur namco reunion vid.
Awesome! Thanks!
+John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech no problem
You have to stop by my Bakery next time your in town!
Does it ever not snow there?
June July august....thats about it lol
Some comments as a former Chicago area resident: 1) I love Lou Malnati's but the buttery crust wreaks havoc with my stomach... the original Pizzeria Uno or Due is my favorite thick crust pizza, 2) Zespy's collection is intense... you completely skipped over a Star Wars Cockpit?!?! Bummer! Maybe next time. :)

That vector cabinet is the coolest fucking thing I have ever seen
Special guest appearance from Mark!!!
When are you going to see Greg again
finally back on the road
Will you ever come to Portland, OR?
I'd like to meet you and show off my custom made pinball machine that I am making from scratch.
No I am not re-theming a game I am starting from scratch I'll make the cab and the circuitry myself! :)
Also if you do come we have to go to Ground Kontrol Arcade that is near me.
My other vehicle is an Explorer.
Ahh, okay! I'll have to go rewatch the video where I think I found that and pay closer attention to the detail there.
Happy Black Friday! How was your Thanksgiving?
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 that pizza had my tongue in swimming pool mode
How much electricity do all those machine consume when you have them all turned on like that?
a lot.
You ever play any Galaxian?
I love Arcade
this is awesome!
What song is being played during the transitions?
Just a stock song. It's not me.
john! do you still have computer space? and if u do will u ever bring it to the basement
He does still have it and is bringing in the basement soon. He has said its a winter project.
18:13 That is hilarious! :)
nice video
Bro I cant get over the fact your car has 3 wipers
The area I live in is so depressing that the only retro arcade cabinets you find are Fun Chickens. There was a place that had a Puzzle Bobble cabinet, but they replaced it...with a Fun Chicken. At least I found the marquee in the trash. Another removed a Pac-Man Battle Royale (the giant version) from their arcade and put four of those damn things in its place. No matter what I do, I see them everywhere. They won't go away! I'm sick of getting their fucking plastic eggs with stale candy from 30 Easters ago! WHY WON'T THEY JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!?
