Kind of a shame you went thru all that to discover the reason the head was cast off; yet there's still a slight stigma(for lack of a proper word) to messing with the old performance parts. Cool stuff, hope to see more.
Very good numbers considering the parts mixup. I'm very interested in the Holley subject. I come from the US V8 world and tune Holleys for a long time. Now I'm into the Pintos and wondered whether I could run them with a Holley - would be very interested in every aspect, f.i. which intake you ran, which size Holley... it's a 4 barrel ! You know the Weber plates, with which you can convert a Holley to the Weber main and idle jets and tubes - changeable without taking it apart? I like your channel very much and always look forward watching new videos of yours.
@@PenguinMotors thanks. I'm looking forward to that video. Don't want to bother you with more questions at that point. Maybe a 2 barrel would be more suitable. Even if it doesn't do anything regarding WOT power and torque it might help tunability/efficiency/driveability - would be interesting for me...
See if you can find a copy of dave vizard...tuning the ford pinto book....it has a huge section on carburettor mods..and the use of 2 and 4 barrel holley carbs.
Good man. What about these pinto that has JB weld floors in the intake ports and the ports move up. They make over 200 bhp a I see a few in Ireland in rallycars. Did you ever try this mod.
Very interesting, good to see someone still working on these old engines.
Graham has serious knowledge.
Another good video
Great video Graham. I love the manner in which you do your R&D. It's super interesting and informative. Top Man.👍 From S.A

holley test coming very soon, it was a 4 barrel 390, but other than looking impressive it did practically nothing for the motor

I’ve always avoided any sort of filler, simply because it can and does come out
Do you sell any of these engines?
some of the engines on here are just my dyno mules simply for testing stuff, others will be rebuilds for customers.
