  • In this video I show you how to locate the Final Stage Heater Resistor or sometimes known as the 'Hedgehog' on a Range Rover Vogue TD6 L322, year 2005, which can cause the car to not got to sleep and therefore drain the battery.
    Replacement Resistor available next day on Amazon: amzn.to/3SK1MnL
    Replacement Battery Yuasa here: amzn.to/3LY2ifS
    NOTE: After replacing with new resistor, the RED light near the 'P' should extinguish after 16mins after you lock the car. If it stays illuminated then the car is not going to sleep and may by draining battery. Watch this video to understand further:
    • Range Rover Battery Dr...
    I show the panels to remove and how to locate, remove and replace. The results I had solved my battery drain problem as the car was not sleeping after the 16mins that it is suppose to. This meant that the red LED at the gear shift was always on and sometimes the Radio orange bar LED would be flashing all the time.
    The part cost about £30 and tool a bout 30mins to replace.

    This video is brilliant 👍
    I brought a new resistor this morning and managed to fit it. A little bit tight and fiddly but itsin and lights and radio are not messing about, and the blower is back working.
    Fingers crossed no battery drain.massive thanks 👌🍺

    Thank you for making and posting this video. The fan has stopped working on my 2003 3.0 Td6 Range Rover HSE and other forums show this component as the likely cause. So I have got a replacement and having watched your video I can try changing it at the weekend.

    Hi again, Thanks again for this video. We did it yesterday and it took about 40 minutes all in to complete the swap. According to a website I found yesterday the old unit out of my 2003 HSE is the same manufacturer (Sistronic) and the same part number as yours but this is original equipment, so I am curious,. However the replacement we used again is the same as the one you have used and everything is back up and running! It was getting more and more difficult to use the vehicle in the cold very wet weather we have had over the last couple of weeks so a working fan has been a necessity not a nice to have.
    I am now going to trawl through your other videos.
    Cheers

      The "Aftermarket (old one) is marked BMW and was made by Valeo. This to my mind means it certainly OEM. Valeo make loads of parts for various European manufacturers and certainly for BMW. Of course they still go wrong lol

    • @Aurion254
      @Aurion254 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay, so it's hard to see but there is a supporting clip below the resistor unit that has to be pressed downwards and then it easily comes out. The cable housing on the other hand is an absolute bitch to detach from the resistor. Why oh why did they have to put it on the driver's side?! Such a fiddly job with the pedals and the heater duct in the way. I'm at the end of my tether with this bloody car!

      The heater blower I think in your car has the twin hamster cage style wheels, I am not sure if they rotate independently, but if you can get to it, then you'll probably find its the brushes worn to the commutator and you could replace possibly. Not likely, I have asked in different places and the resistor is part of the cars heater wiring matrix, if the resistor is not in place, then the car will not have a method to regulate the heater etc, For all they cost I would replace the resistor and see if the red LED light at the gear shift goes off after you lock the car and wait 16 + mins.
