Resolution makes a difference due to anti-aliasing at 1080p making everything blurry af. After trying out amd virtual super resolution at 2k(basically SSAA) i can't go back to 1080p. It looks SOOOO much better in the distance with it and works much better than ingame SSAA. IF i remember correctly Nvidia equivalent is DSR
I have finally realised that War thunder balances tanks by Armor alone and not firepower. The more Armor, the higher the BR. The less the armor, the lower the BR, regardless of how much firepower a tank actually got.

All vehicles in War Thunder are a balance between speed, armour and firepower. The R3 is basically maxed out on speed, and the current balance of the game leans very heavily towards speed. That's why the vehicle is so good.

You are overthinking it. It's a 1980s armored vehicle fighting 1940s armor. They do not belong in the same era - regardless of combat effectiveness. This is why the battle rating system is flawed.

I completely forgot R3 is 3.7. It perfectly match my 6.3 wheeled gang. I put a bush near the gun mount (both 20mm and 106mm), so the enemy often try to shoot the non existent turret.
Phly, i have a good challenge for you!! Attempt #637!!! Play the M48 in stock conphiguration on 7.7 br (old lineup). If you have phun during it, i can guarantee you are not doing it right . I had a tank game a few days ago in the Avenger when an R3 jumped me, ran round the back, pointed the gun at me and taunted me before killing me. It was utterly horrible, but utterly hilarious, because my turret was rotating comically slow trying to get him while he's just running around me like a demented cat chasing its owner for food. He then went on to kill and maim many more tanks in that game before a KV something got him. Its OP for 3.7, dare I say it is in some ways even more lethal than the 10.7 Wirbelwind.
R3 needs to be in 7.0 and the stabilizer needs to be removed. It's so fast, it can dictate terms of a battle before the big boys get to the cap and while the 20mm doesn't have a whole lot of penetration on paper, it still has enough to kill something just by volume of fire. It's kind of just not ok. R3 players say that there needs to be an increase in mag size and a decrees in reload time. This isn't true. If you can get close enough, you can outrun the travers speed of any tank's turret. There are only two tanks that have a chance of standing up to it, the KV-1 & 2 and the Churchill. I also doesn't fit the theme of it's BR. The entire match is going to be made up of early 40s tanks but then here's this mid 80s thing running around the battle field, ruining everything.
Phly, the Italians have no protection from air on their vehicles before this gun. Try the Italians on 4.0 and 4.7 with the M42 Contraereo and see if that isn't an argument for the T20 to stay (now) 4.0 at least
