On 8 October 1989 IRA terrorists murdred Alwyn Harris, 51. Married father of 2. Off duty RUC murdered when under car bomb exploded while on way to harvest service, Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland,
Son followed him into policing becoming Garda Commissioner in the Republic of Ireland police, in 2018.
