My wife's Dyson is only about 2 years old and its doing the same thing. I've contemplated doing this. But I think I'm going to try and exchange it at Costco first. If thats a no go then im doing the battery swap for sure! Thanks for the video
Thanks for the video. When my Dewalt 6.0ah battery has 1 dot of charge left my Dyson v6 starts shutting off after several seconds. Have you encountered this? I’ve also used a small 1.5ah battery and almost seems they both maintain the same run time til the vacuum starts shutting off.
Completely normal for the 6Ah, the Dyson pack is 21.6V while the Dewalt is 18V (even if they call it a 20V pack, is still only 5 cells in series so more accurately called 18V) , and either of them dropping in voltage as they discharge during use, so while the Dyson vac is designed to operate down to the original pack voltage of roughly 15.6V, the Dewalt 18V pack will still have some charge left in it when it reaches 15.6V. It is not normal for a 1.5Ah 18V pack to have the same run time, which tells me either the 6Ah pack was generic and grossly overrated, or is old and near worn out.
I find using Dyson on Max a lot really does cause the battery to wear out very quickly! BTW you have a V6 Motorhead model. Not sure if you said V4 in your video.

Nice "vac hack" 😆👍

Can you build a spud gun that will rival the power of a panzerhaubitze 2000
What about voltage difference?) original battery is 21.6v, all bosch etc batteries are 18v. It can’t run full power can it?
The difference is not noticeable, I have been using the DEWALT battery for over a year know and it is working great!
Does this mod void the warranty?
I would assume so
Only if you're dumb enough to tell them. Save the old battery and if anything happens put it back in duh
Knowing how Dyson is, I'm surprised that this conversion was even possible.
I’m surprised to. They like to sue everyone!
@@blakaeg Wonder who they're going to sue in China
Can you do this to an LG vacuum??
My LG battery won’t stay charged anymore??
