‘Worst Possible Thing’: Timothy Ferriter Severely Abused His Son By Locking Him Up, State Says

- Opening statements in the imprisoned son trial started Tuesday. Florida father Timothy Ferriter is on trial for allegedly locking up his teen son inside a room for most of each day, as well as physically and mentally abusing him. “This is the worst possible thing that a parent could do,” the state attorney explained, claiming solitary confinement negatively impacts a child's mental state.

He rejected a plea for 24 months prison and five years probation. Now he could get up to 35 years? He must have firmly believed people would agree with what he did. It will be interesting to see what happened to the son once removed.

I am also concerned the school was clueless. Surely he told someone. Just his acting out at school had to have been a red flag and discussed in the school setting with teachers, counsellors and parents.

I honestly think reality hit home when the prosecutor gave her opening statement. This narcissist piece of scum will wish he’d taken the plea deal. When you lock another human being away, whether it’s a child or an adult there are serious consequences. Locking a child in a room is an act of desperation that causes fear, anxiety and social isolation. It is neither effective nor humane. This man and his wife had the money and resources to help that young boy, they chose not too! I hope he’s locked up for 30 years and fears for his life every day.

This case really bothers me alot i have two sons with autism who have behavior problems and in no way would i ever think to lock them inside a room day in and day out i have them in aba therapy to work on how to cope with there behaviors there also in schools that help work on behaviors as well bha program which is absolutely amazing now it doesnt take there behaviors away completely but it is helping them work on the behaviors. In no way shape or form is this a good excuse to lock a child in a room like an animal and make them pee and poop in a bucket they deserve to be charged to the fullest
Give the dad what he gave his kid. Same treatment right down to the bucket. Sadly, even in prison he will have better conditions than what he gave his son.

Adopted children are not clean slates. A lot of us come with emotional baggage. We aren’t replacement children. Many many of us suffer from trauma because of being relinquished from our birth families. This child was taken from his birth family, taken from his birth country and unfortunately placed with “parents” that treated him like this. It makes me so angry. Not everyone should be allowed to adopt.
Hopefully this guy will be in a similar sized box for a very very long time.. although his toilet will flush unfortunately 🤬

A later video of Tim Ferriter shaking like a leaf while they decide whether or not to allow him out on bail pending sentencing (they don’t) shows just what a coward and bully this man is. He folds like a napkin after being locked up for a short time while his child was locked up for a much, much longer time and survived while staying stronger than this abusive coward.
