    I'd had my eye on this pump for a little while after spotting its bigger brother in a bike store we visited while touring Queensland.
    Since picking it up, I've really grown fond of this amazing little pump and I think it might just be the best pump for bikepacking and bike touring - and certainly within its price range.
    What do you guys think?

    Great pump 10 years with mine and seated a bead on a 26 mountain bike wheel. My only problem is recently with new 29x2.4 tires on a newer mountain bike it takes forever to get pressure in those tires where I want them

      I run that exact size and find it doesn't take too long at all... I suppose it's all a matter of perspective - compared to a floor pump it'll be pretty slow....
      I run tubeless at pretty low pressures though... 🤷‍♂️

    That's a great tip Dave!! My usual trip pump is a small Topeak which has a lock on thingo like that and a pressure gauge but no hose. The hose and the foot stand are real attractions of that one.

    • @VeloObscura
      @VeloObscura  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Warmshowers hosts we stayed with near Coffs Harbour had a little Topeak pump with a gauge, so it's probably the same one! Topeak make some decent gear.
      You're right though - the best thing about this one is definitely the hose. It makes such a difference!
      Cheers!

      Still using it to this day. Currently approaching Jakarta after cycling across Java.

    Thanks for the recommendation. I just picked up one at my Trek dealer. I had a Topeak mini track pump but the hose was just a bit too short for comfort with big volume mtb tyres.

      We had a Topeak mini pump and faced the same issue, as well as it being a bit smaller volume. When it died on the road, we managed to get it repaired, but it was never really the same after that - which meant time for an upgrade!
      I hope the Mini Charger works out for you! I've been more than happy with it! 😁

    Nice! I’ve heard of this one but haven’t tried it. I use the Topeak mini road morph with the kick stand and hose (super similar) but you really have me at the longer hose. That’s the big downside of the Topeak mini morph. Thanks for sharing.

      We had a Mini Morph (at least that's what I think it was.... Small Topeak one anyway!) and it was great until it broke. We got the seals replaced at a bike store, but it was never really the same after that.
      I really prefer this one. It's a great pump and has been really reliable. I've even managed to seat multiple tubeless tyres with it at this point! 😮
      Thanks for commenting!

    This is pretty timely -- I'm looking to get something like this. Had a look at "other other one" but was warned that the design has been updated and there's a part that the shop has had a few issues with. So I'll definitely have a look at this one; thanks!

      Excellent! Glad the video was useful!
      Seems this pump is kind of hard to find anywhere other than a Trek store or Trek dealer, but you can get it directly from Trek on their website too. It's fairly pricey for a small pump, but it's been worth it for me!
      Cheers!

      @@VeloObscura Luckily (and only in this circumstance really) nearly every bike shop in Melbourne seems like it's a Trek store...

      Glad it was helpful, mate!
      Unfortunately I don't have any links other than directly from the Trek website. They have stores all over the world, so they should be able to ship without any hassle. If I get any links in the future, I'll update here!
      I found mine in a local bike shop. They do seem a bit hard to find, but totally worth it!

    For the last 7yrs I have been using a Topeak mini track pump, hard to find now and one from Halfords But they are no longer sell them and neither have a pressure gauge.
    At home I use a full size track pump.
    What pressure does it pump up to and where can I get one?
    P.S. I'm in the UK

    • @VeloObscura

      I used a mini Topeak pump for years. It failed while on tour, and although I managed to get it fixed at a bike shop that just happened to have a service kit, it was never really the same after that.
      Maximum pressure is 100psi and you will probably need to get it at your nearest Trek dealer, but perhaps just search online first. I'm in Australia, so not really sure about UK retailers currently!

    Have you ever recommended anything that doesn't have an affiliate link?

    • @VeloObscura
      @VeloObscura  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Literally the pump in the video you're commenting on.
      Also, the affiliate links come after. I buy and use all these products and then some of them I make a review about after the fact.
      If I can find an affiliate link, then you bet I will add it. Why wouldn't I try and make a few cents off of the work that I put into making these videos?

    Pressure gauges are often wrong, you really gotta buy a seperate expensive pressure gauge..

    • @VeloObscura
      @VeloObscura  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a separate pressure gauge and after double checking this pumps accuracy, it actually seems pretty good.
      Currently I inflate my tyres to 25psi and the pump is always 100% bang on.
      Although I can't comment on how it performs across the rest of its range.
