  • The head of the Alice Springs tourism industry is calling on Australians to visit the town, saying there's been a noticeable improvement in law-and-order issues.
Tourism Central Australia chief executive officer Danial Rochford was speaking at the launch of a new airline route between Alice Springs and Cairns when he discussed the "notable difference" being seen in the town.
Sky News Northern Australia Correspondent Matt Cunningham said the situation is “improving” after “strong” law and order measures were implemented in Alice Springs.
“There’s a noticeable difference between two years ago when we saw the height of the problems … and the situation now," Mr Cunningham said.

    Can tourists climb Ayers Rock?
If not, this is a gross abuse of indigenous "rights"! As a FREE tourist attraction that has been available for decades, this situation is in drastic need of reversal...

      Western Australia was the same.
In particular, the Coral Bay caravan park and servo.
We were looking for fresh water and were told we get nothing unless we stay.
I didn't even fuel up there.
We we told "it defeats the purpose of us being here to give you water".
Fuck the sand gropers, I don't plan on going back any time soon.
