Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor while maintaining appropriate language for all ages, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

This figure is damn near perfect, but I do wish Hasbro would retire that shield. I gave mine one of the MCU shields, and it looks so much better.

Just the other day I realized I still had my OG ML Cap figure and gave that shield to 80th Cap--definite improvement! Also gave my 80th Cap's shield to Stan Lee figure and it fits him well!

You know it's coming! I'd love to see an "AvX" line. Awesome way to get a few of those expensive figures a wave that makes sense.

I've got iron man he a really good figure but I used to not be a big of him but now I'm glad I got a figure of him earlier so even if your not a fan rn maybe just get him on the case you are in the future

I also hope they release a repaint with a lighter blue. This blue is too dark. And although this face is better than the last couple Caps with the bruiser/boxer face, I wish they'd do a classically handsome, "all-American" face worthy of Cap.

If you have the Marvel Select Avenging Captain America figure, his shield looks great with this figure. It’s appropriately-sized and the colors match up really well.
The saluting and pointing hands are from Red onslaught wave Wolf cap

Nice review Shart. Love this Cap. FYI, I got the last two that were on the pegs at my Walmart, and I got another one that I had already ordered on EBay, and they all have pretty much perfect paint on the stars. I can't see one scratch or blemish on any of them. Either I got super lucky (which is doubtful) or maybe the earlier runs had bad paint and they fixed it later.
I glued a small nail in the hole in his back painted it white to match the star glued a small magnet on inner part of the movie shield now it stores on his back
I bought that same Captain America toy at Walmart the other day and it’s super awesome

I have my 80 years Captain America use the shield and Commander Steve Rogers head sculpt from the Steve Rogers figure that’s from terrax wave and that head pretty good on that body.
If you put the dormomu fire skulls on the poison from monster venom wave then it looks like spirit spider

I lucked out and got a Cap with a flawless chest star, and I gave him an MCU Shield. Minor complaints would be that i wish he came with an unmasked head instead of two very similar sculpts and they should have painted the inner tops of the biceps clue because you can see white showing thru the gaps.

Megalopolis Toys is *the worst* company I've dealt with in nearly 25 years. They refused to cancel my Colossus and Juggernaut 2-pack pre-order, due to needing that money for my daughter's unexpected medical bill. They ended up charging me right away, even though their site says they don't do that. Then I find out it's in stock and ready to ship; yet several weeks past and still no shipping, to then return the item. I then contacted them again via text (could never get ahold of them on the phone), and now they tell me they will issue me a refund, that'll take several weeks. What in the fuck is going on with them?! Yeah, lesson learned. Them and BBTS are the worst, by far. Makes sense why they pay others to sponsor them.

It really is an awesome figure, and yes, I had to hunt thru about 7-8 at Walmart to find one with a star that wasn't gnarled and chewed up.
I guess I got lucky finding it at the store after they remodeled their toys, since now Cap is the rarest one online...
Cool review Shart! Great Cap figure! That shield could stand to be a little bigger. My brother brought up a good point about the blue in that it matches up to the actual US flag. We all feel like it should be lighter but looking at the blue of tge flag, it matches.

It very curious that in Evey Walmart in my area you can find all the 80 anniversary figures BUT Captain America; being Cap a Walmart exclusive.

Tv Phantom I could care less about those poorly designed shields, I primarily used the Classic Toybiz Cap Shields for Figures like the 80th Cap-exception being I don’t have a taskmaster haha
Tv Phantom you could buy the $10 basic captain america and game figure and use that shield for this figure, i did it and it looks great

The Cap figure that had the saluting hand is actually the darker blue first version of comic Cap on the right. He was re-decoed in a lighter blue but didn't come with the hands anymore.
EDIT: Swap the Toy Biz Series I Captain America shield for this guy. That blue is slightly different but the red is pretty similar. If you keep it on him long enough, looks perfect for this buck.
So what are people complaining about the dark blue colour?? Do people not know that this is based on how Alex Ross depicted Captain America? Just like how Ironman has the alternate helmet with the nose as well as having gold instead of yellow, just like how he painted him in the conics. It’s silly what people and reviewers will complain about.

I have to say thank you for your reviews, especially for this one because when I'm not sure on buying a figure (All I collect is Hasbro Marvel Legends), I can always trust your opinion whether it is a good figure or not. Most definitely I'm picking up 80th Anniv. Captain America. ✌👊

Finally we have a decent chainmail sculpts and not the fishnet paint app one.
I’ve found both Ironman and Thor but this Cap has evaded me. I’m actually happy I haven’t found one yet, I’m hoping to find one with a good star. I’ve seen a lot of pics of bad paint jobs on the first releases.
Has anyone else commented that the 80th Cap is a Wal-Mart exclusive? I keep running into that and wondered if was true... .

I love it. I got mine earlier Saturday and I gotta say, I had to eBay it cause Wal-Mart suck at managing inventory or whatever it is. My order got delayed, I chatted with a rep and said "do not cancel, I don't mind if it's late, I just want an ETA" and he assured me he'll forward that info and I get an email saying canceled. Keep in mind, I per-ordered within 5 minutes of it being up on the site.

Yeah I have this Cap as well and I do have a few gripes about it like the color is too dark and my Star has a fingerprint on it like a legit fingerprint like if there is a door that you can unlock with fingerprints I can use my Cap’s star for access lol no lie

Darn it I'm bummed that this figure has sold out in all the online stores I've checked. Even BBTS and this new Megalopolis. I haven't checked retail stores like Walmart yet so I may still have a chance.
I wonder if there will be legends figures for Disney+ figures. Especially would be awesome if we get a John Cena US agent and masked Baron Zemo.
I have a feeling that this figure will get a re-release at mass market down the line with a lighter blue paint job.

I got mine and the 80 years Iron Man at my local Walmart.
The BHS on the vintage Cap is so blatant I was surprised it didn't bother you more given some of the ones that do where they are less blatant. I do feel the shield could be a bit bigger but it is accurate the era this design was inspired by, plus some feel the movie shield is too large so to each their own. Honestly though he should have an unmasked head, Iron Man has three heads and they both seem equal in terms of parts more or less.
They use that color blue because this is the Alex Ross version of captain America and this is the color scheme he chose
