Shadow World is the literal shadow of Pursuing My True Self. Its literally what people who've never played P4 believe Persona is when its actually the other song that fully embodies the themes of the game
I think Shadow World portrays the tone somewhat well (yay happy😁, murder😦, yay happy😁) but other than that Pursuing My True Self portrays the themes and story so perfectly, has a great song, and great visuals, and it just gets me more hyped to play the game.
At least personally I don't really mind as shadow world really doesn't serve the same purpose as pursuing my true self. If anything it's more along the lines of colours flying high where it's just a celebration of that game through a more upbeat op that showcases and celebrates the charicters while putting a bit of focus towards one of the new re-release charicters (Marie and yoshizawa respectively).
Read the lyrics to P3D’s OP as you listen to it, consider that it has been years since we’d seen the P3 cast together like that and then come back to put it at rank #1 like it deserves! …or #2 behind Q2 because those lyrics are fire too honestly.

Honestly, the first two openings are far better if you read the translations for the poems. "Butterfly Dream" and "The Doppelganger" add so much since they both tie into themes of the story.
All 4 P1 and P2 openings tie into the stories in so many ways and the PSP versions of both spoil basically the entire plot and it’s deeper meaning. (Which is why rewatching those OP’s after finishing the games is insane)

Yep P3R literally is a testment of how the team making it love the original game. It's not full of ridiculous flair that all other re release openings have and it even surpassed the original. P3R then P3. I do think PQ1 is better than PQ2 tho.

Persona 3 has a great sending but the story definately feels childishly edgy at times, and with it being an experiment it doesent at all have the pace of the two sequels, even persona 2 or mainline smts. That being said I still love the game. Sad to see what the remake is looking like

I think people just appreciate how realistic the cast was portrayed in Persona 3. Some of the characters in 4 and 5 weren't as deep as nearly the entire cast of P3. If every cast member in P4 had the depth of Kanji and Naoto, thing might be a bit different. Then in P5, I'd argue out of the main cast, no one comes close to Naoto, Kanji or almost anyone in P5 (except Futaba, the GOAT.) I still love P5 and love all the characters but that aspect is a little disappointing.

Persona 3 dancing being hated so much in the live chat but preferring p4 dancing? I don’t get it. The P4 dancing opening makes me actually cringe from how bad and janky the animation is, it’s just lazy compared to the p3 dancing opening.

Tactica opening visual and song really shows the fatigue. Lyn herself doesn't sound as much into it. By this point she did way too many spin-offs.
