    That Mig 15 is a jet engine with two seats and two wings strapped to it!! That thing is awesome!! It always surprises me how big fighter jets actually are. In the air they seam a lot smaller then when you see them on the ground with a person standing next them you see how big they actually are!! It's amazing the size and the performance with some of these aircrafts. Supper cool!!

    Comparing a Mig-29 to an F-35 is like comparing a Honda Civic to a Lamborghini Huracan. Dogfighting is not a concern if you can kill the enemy before he even knows you're there.

      More likely the Messerschmitt 163, which was the rocket-powered interceptor fighter. This pre-dated the Me 262, also had swept wings, and was capable of far higher speeds, albeit for much reduced flight times since it could only carry enough fuel for less than 10 minutes of powered flight. For the rest of its flight time it was essentially a glider, at which it excelled since the design was itself based on a previous series of unpowered gliders.

    • @geekpoet7443
      @geekpoet7443 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the Germans were playing around with swept wings on gliders. There was also the p-1101 which had swing wing technology similar to the f-14, the Ta-183, the fw-287 had swept forward wings.

      Actually it is all bullshit. They are just paranoia. By strengthening their military, will make other countries do the same because there will be always question why are they strengthening their military for. Does it make sense to spend 400 billion tax payer money of military when no on e is trying to fight you, absolutely not, it is expensive because they have to keep up the maintenance of those equipments, which may never get to go to war. It is better to spend money exploring other areas that are not explored enough, like the ocean.

      @@multifaceteddoallHow did that work out for Ukraine? You speak from the experience of someone who has never been to war or met those that have hate in their soul. If we spend billions and never use a single weapon developed because the threat of retaliation was too high for those wishing to do us harm then every penny was spent wisely and they accomplished their goal.
      The goal of expensive military equipment is to lessen the chance of American Soldiers dying.. however that is accomplished is irrelevant.

    F-35, a truly ground braking aircraft that is and will redefine the way air power is used and the way air combat is executed. The amount of criticism has decreased with the years and although the jet performed perfectly during large air exercises and in spite all the praise coming from the pilots flying this jet from multiple countries, there are still "experts" out there who think that F-35 cant's fly, can't fight and costs 200 million$. Currently the A model of the jet costs around 80 million $ which is lower than many Western made 4th gen fighter jets like the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, F-18 Super Hornet Block III, etc... Currently the only drawback is higher than average cost of flight hour which is around 33 000$ and dropping while for example F-15 E cost is around 22 000$ per hour. F-35 is a much needed capability in NATO and for our Pacific and Asian allies. Of course that doesn't mean that the F-35 is it and we should stick with it for the next 50 years.. That's why the USAF and US Navy have started large scale investment in the next generation of fighter jets, so called NGAD or Next generation air dominance. And the most surprising thing about it is the fact that the prototype has already flown.. Amazing.

      I'm glad someone else has pointed out these facts, especially the cost per plane. Also, whenever people try saying it can only carry 6000lbs of munitions, correct them with this lovely fact, it can actually carry 22,000lbs. Thats 4000lbs more than an f18. Stealths don't operate in full stealth configuration 24/7. Once air defenses are taken out, they mount up hardpoints and start carrying on the wings.

    • @martinsterckx6441
      @martinsterckx6441 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, a few things: according to the Governement Accountability Office, the current cost of flying an f35 is lot 33 000$ as you said but 41 000, which is twice as much as the f16 or the rafale. The current price per unit is around 80 millions dollars, like you said, which is the price of the rafale but lower than an eurofighter or a f22. Overall, it is not a cheaper plane than other 4th generations plane. Let's hope it can deliver in the technological side

    8:00 what a ground breaking milestone that the harrier was doing in the late 1960s, and many countries are still using it in their military, the uk has only just retired it and I'm kinda pissed that the guy narrated it like that, I'm pretty sure VTOL goes back way before the harrier too but the harrier is the only other VTOL that I'm sure is still in service now, the last one was built around 2000 and it was modern enough to be the backbone of the UK's carrier force until a few years back, and the Americans are still using them in some areas until their phased out, so how revolutionary the VTOL concept must be for them, groundbreaking stuff.
