    Could the patient at the end possibility have pulmonary edema or CHF, making it hard for them to breathe

      Possibly, but much more likely that there is a problem with the peritoneal dialysis method that is being employed. Best course of action would to assess ABC's with emphasis on the Breathing, consider supplemental oxygen, and determine if the call is BLS or ALS (depending on your local protocols). This is patient will get definitive care at the Emergency Department, so the faster you can begin transporting, the better. Great thoughts Grant, thank you for your comment!
