I read somewhere that Jemma wasn't supposed to throw up but the actress was actually sick while filming & she really threw up & they decided to leave it in since it sells so well. Lol.
What was the inuniverse reason?

She is pregnant
I was thinking the same thing throughout the entire episode. If you look back at the episode, there are soooo many signs. She's eating a lot of junk food (there are wrappers along her desk while she's talking to Fitz in one scene) and then when she gets up from that desk, she looks a little dizzy. There's another scene where she looks like she's dizzy as well as she moves. And then the icing on the cake is just this last scene.

@@reesewithoutaspoon It's not just this scene. If you were to look back on this episode or the one prior to this one (I can't remember which) there's a scene between Fitz and Simmons and there is good and food wrappers all over the table Simmons is working on. I can probably count in one hand how many times food has been in a scene in this show. It was a rare set up by the prop department.
@@AdriGoddess She's not pregnant though. Not the actress or the character. Simmons got pregnant later on in the timeline.
@@loganbigmo I never said/thought the actress was. This is my theory (bc obviously the show ended and it never referenced Simmons being pregnant):
I believe the writers meant to have Simmons be pregnant, or it was a B-line story that they were going to reveal. However, the story never came to fruition due to them getting picked up for a 6th season. They thought they were going to be done with season 5. However, the idea was scrapped by the end of season 5 so as to prepare for a storyline that would lead into the 6th season.
Again, there were so many clues that pointed to Jemma being pregnant. She was dizzy in a couple of scenes (one of them was not the one where the actress was sick), she also had a whole bunch of wrappers around her (candy/choc to be specific--so it was more her having a craving) in another scene.
