I always find it funny that during the busy times we tend to abandon our planners/journals when that’s probably when we need them most to stay organized and on top of things. Loved the flip look forward to more videos. Hopefully I find the guts to start TH-cam soon

I know! I'm trying to develop more consistent planning routines to make sure I use my planner when I need it most :)
Thank you! (And you should totally start a YT channel! It was definitely daunting trying to figure out how to get started, but it's been so fun trying to figure out what I want this creative outlet to look like.)

Thanks for this! I love love all things behind-the-scenes so I love your functional planner flip-through and the thought process behind things.
(On another note…I love getting nerdy with people and learning about their field of study. I saw the AERA Conference notation in your weeks so it makes me wonder if you went to my alma mater 🤔😁 💙💛)

      Yay! Thank you!
(And haha! the AERA conference in my planner is the American Educational Research Association-- my field is k-12 education policy :) )

Subscribed & looking forward to seeing more videos! I've been more intentional about watching videos from people who use their planners and not only focus on the aesthetics (posting super perfect and curated layouts). I really loved hearing about your setup with your weeks, cousin, & stalogy! I have almost the exact same setup, but with an A6 stalogy.

Thank you so much for sharing your functional planner! I’m starting my first ever Hobonichi Weeks, which I intend to use as my health and wellness tracker/planner/journal, and I’ve been watching TH-cam for inspiration. Yours was the first *realistic* walkthrough I’ve seen. Goodness, raising a young child, earning your PhD, moving across the country - can’t get much more real than that!

thank you!! grad school is like a weird time warp-- I simultaneously feel like it flew by and like I've aged 1000 years. you'll get there soon!!

@@theoryof.lauren same lol it was so rough. academia/grad school is so not a parent family place.

Welcome to TH-cam! I can relate in many ways with what you’ve shared. We’ve been through multiple cross country moves with kids and dogs. My daughter is in the same situation with daycare shortage and wants us to move in with her so that we can watch our granddaughter. I like how your sneaker weeks looked after the year. Congrats on your PhD.

cross country moves are so exhausting, and no daycare is rough 🫠🫠🫠 we also moved closer to my parents so it’s been so much easier and they’ve been really helpful!
      and thank you so much!

Lovely planner setup!! It's my first year with the Hobonichi weeks, and I'm struggling with finding a black fountain pen ink that works well. Any advice?

I love the platinum curidas (in the Fine) and the pilot vanishing point (also in Fine). the pilot VP in fine is a little thick for me and smears more-- but the platinum curidas is perfect. (I personally think the pilot VP in extra fine is too scratchy but I know some people love that fountain pen for on the go planning.) I also use the DeAtramentis Document Ink in Black (which dries pretty fast). Happy planning in the hobonichi weeks!
