thank you for sharing! it was such a wonderful video! :)
On 365 shade every second month lightly it will keeps you in touch with where you’re at
A lovely video! You are very well-spoken and I appreciated both the main content and your asides. Happy holidays to you and yours <3
where is your fountain pen with the black cap from?? it’s gorgeous
LOL! Editing. I was trying to film a month on a page layout and had to do it 3 times, because I refused to edit. But, at least I got 3 months ahead.
Where is your pen pouch from?😍
yes, please do tell!
Really enjoyed this video. Congrats on finishing your PhD. Please let your young son handle physical books. A tear is ok and he will learn to love books.
Laughing at 'Lord knows I'm not going to edit it'! I feel the same way sometimes. I'm just going to slap on an intro and outro and upload to YT 🤣 Love seeing your N1 Rachel!
haha glad to know I'm not alone! & thanks, Stephanie!
Good morning I am grateful to have found your channel. I can spend hours just watching and learning how i want to set up my planners.
Thank you! And glad you found some useful ideas 💖
Very impressive system you have love. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 💖
yes! I always look forward to your videos. You make me want to try a standard size. I'm in a N2 as my on the go, messy planner and then an A5 as my everything planner. As I have said many a time, I love your writing - both the regular cursive and the hand lettering. How did you learn your hand lettering? I'm sure a lot of it is practise but did you start with anything specific?
Hi Rachel! I love your reading journal! Don't forget to add Morrison's God Help the Child to your list. It was her last novel. Toni Morrison is my favorite author and the subject of my dissertation. If you ever need a fellow Morrison reader to talk with---let me know.
Thank you! and thanks so much for flagging the Morrison book I was missing! 💖
Your comment about keeping track of time helped me realize that a vertical weeks may be better for me. Thanks.
Happy you found that comment helpful!
This is a useful set up! I’m going to use a lot of this for a film journal :)
Thanks and glad you found some helpful ideas!
I have really enjoyed your reading journal videos. I have watched both of your Reading Journal setup videos and wondered why you switched from 8x8” Archer & Olive journal to a Sterling Ink journal for your book journal.
Thanks! I switched because I spilled coffee on the 8x8 A&O journal (It only stained the cover, but I hated looking at it.) I used the Sterling Ink notebook because I had it lying around and lots of A5 covers I can use.
Loved seeing this reading journal. This felt very manageable. I love the Sterling Ink notebooks, especially as the pages get filled. I noticed you mentioned being in DC and wanting a book club. I'd check the local independent bookstores, depending on where you are. I know Arlington's One More Pages has a couple of book clubs, but I assume others do too. Also check your library system.
Thank you! and thanks for the suggestion re finding a book club!
Very cool set up! My problem with reading notes is that I DNF so many dang books so it's annoying when I take pages and pages of notes and then suddenly lose interest in the book so I feel like I wasted my time. But if I don't take notes, I risk not having a clue what's going on in the book, so I have to take notes.
Thank you!
You can hate the people but love their art
I have rewatched this a few times this morning . Love your ideas! Setting up the next Weeks is less stressful now.. thank you ❤
Thanks and glad you found something here helpful!
Great video😊 I use this planner as a catch all planner and I love how it can hold everything I need but after seing your video Im actually considering a weeks on the side😂 A tip for the tracker- page is I too use that page as a tracker but the one you were wondering about i allso use as a tracker but on more of a gliding scale combo type….. so I write the date horizontally on the bottom with 1-9 on the left for the amount of hours i sleep, and a 1_5 on the left as a gliding scale for example for the level of energy and health issues etc. I wish I could have shared a picture here in the comments but it wont let me, but if you watch one of my flip through videos you can see me explaining it in there❤ i hope you have an awsome weekend😊
Thanks for watching and for the tracker idea!
I know this was a while ago but for the extra quarterly pages you could write down the books you read on the left and then on the right you can track how many pages you read, how many hours you read, whether you read physical Kindle or audible... I think its such a fun way to keep up with that kind of thing! Or if you're not a huge reader you could always keep up with your workouts and your health stats on the left and then on the right side you could keep up with your steps your sleep, etc. you can do graphs loke some people do... It always ends up looking awesome
Thanks for this idea! I love tracking lots of reading stats too.
What’s the link for the pen you’re using at 8:20 🤩
I feel like we have very similar reading philosophies and interests. Spotted some of my favs highly rated and it always makes me so happy when ppl love the same books I do 🤗
love that! whats your fav recent read?
@@rachelonpaper Greta and Valdin and The Song of Achilles were my five stars last month, both for sure in my top fav of all time
@@shaunsshelf ohh the Song of Achilles has been on my TBR for a while!! Going to bump this up on my list of books to read!
@@rachelonpaper I hope you love it! I sobbed for hours and was book hung over for weeks 😭 I even knew the ending and still was not emotionally prepared. A bit worried I’ll never love another book again 😅
A lovely set up for all us readers to see
thank you!!
I'm always so excited to see someone's minimal reading journal that's still functional and fun! Love your take on it ❤
thank you!!
I loved your set up! Very clean and useful
thank you!!
As I have said before, your writing is perfection! Always look forward to a video from you. We have similar reading tastes when it comes to non-fiction books. Have you read Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis? Very good.
thank you!! and no, though I want to get to that classic soon though!
Love this! I teach high school English and taught The Bluest Eye- I know there was controversy at a local high school and of course a Mormon student found issue with it hahaha. I'll have to check out the Atlantic article! thanks for the recommendation
thank you!!
I love this. And I too started with the Common Planner at the beginning of the year but I realized I missed my hobonichi. I thought I would want the pages undated but for me I need the dated pages. So I picked up the hobonichi Spring and I am now at planner bliss. Back in my fav planner. I hope your year in the hobonichi will go well.
What is the ink on #2?! It's so pretty
From the ink bottle collection, it's Sailor Blue Black (my absolute favorite Blue Black that I almost always have inked in at least one pen); In the ink sample collection, it's DeAtramentis Document Sepia Brown.
I was so happy when I saw a new video from you :) This looks great! Thinking the A5 Common Planner might work best for you. I love mine. Your penmanship is the best.
I love my A5 Sterling Ink Common Planner too ❤ I’ve so become a Sterling Ink girl all my planners and journals are now
thank you! BTW, I'm feeling the same re the A5 common planner lol
@@tiffanykorb6704 same!! I even gave up my beloved hobonichi weeks for the weeks size common planner which shocked even me lol
@@tiffanykorb6704 Me too!
I call your leather planner (shown on the short video) as "personnal organizer". I like this model with pen.
Love the Sterling inks Nn1 & N2 sizes, taking away the quote and the pages going to the edge of the notebook makes such a huge difference in terms of functional space! Using my hobo weeks as more of a checklist/mental health working great. My NI (standard TN) is more of a work focused planner with meeting notes, continuing education notes, etc. never thought a TN would be good for me but it’s perfect
exactly! I was surprised by how much I love the N2 common planner, and I'm loving the standard TN size a lot too.
Love your setup with the separate notebooks. Is your day per page book also Sterling Ink?
yep! they are Sterling Ink grid notebooks in the N1 size.
I love your videos, your handwriting, your reading planner, pretty much everything 🤣 I was thinking of a B6 for next year but now I'm thinking I might miss the A5 size. Did you think about the A5 Common Planner?
Thank you!! & yes! I debated a lot between the A5 common planner & hobonichi cousin. We’ll see how this year works out but I could definitely see myself switching to the Common Planner if the dated pages feel too restricting.
14:32 Just FYI. It’s bigger than the sneaker weeks but not the non-sneaker version. It’s the same size as the other weeks planners.
that's a great clarification! though, the common planner paper size is still taller and wider than the standard hobonichi weeks planners since the hard covers are taller and wider than the paper (if that makes sense).
My main planner is a W222 A5 all in one. But I use it similarly on the dailies to your standard and love it. I have a standard EDC right now and use a Stalogy for my dailies paired with a monthly from SI and love that too. Your bujoplanner cover is gorgeous. I have the same in pocket size. 💗
Love that set up & love bujoplanner covers so much!
I like your reading goals. I read a few of Toni Morrison books many many years ago. I am so grateful to have read her books when I was young and just starting adulthood. I never thought to read August Wilson but I did get to see a few of his plays. I do not read a lot but I also read Real Self Care and found it soothing and logical and realistic. Thank you very much for sharing your process and reasoning. It’s very helpful. You have a very lovely setup
Thank you!! I loved Real Self Care -- I felt validated by so much of the book.
Just google what day of the year is today? That’s how I deal with the 365 page. Enjoyed your set up.
You and I read the same way! I've always read multiple books at the same time - usually 5-10. During Covid, I read 201 books that year but now I'm around 75-100.
love mood reading!
I'm trying to let go of my mistakes too...I think our mistakes make the journal more "personal"/"real". Sometimes messy like life, but we move on. 🥰
exactly this!!
This is the color I am interested in. I have never had a weeks before. Can you tell me if the cover is more like paper or cardstock or is it a hardback?
It's more like cardstock (I think) but very durable and bendy.
Such a cute birthday picture! Love watching your process!
Sterling ink has now come out with monthly booklets in different sizes. So far the B6 is working well for me. I’m thinking that maybe a small monthly calendar for on the go and the B6 would be a great combo for 2025
Absolutely loved your set up and style! Can’t wait to enjoy more videos from your channel. 🎉
I set up all my monthlies in all my planners ahead of time too at the beginning of the year. It allows me to write plans directly in them when they are scheduled and color code them to the minimal deco I have on the monthlies too. It’s an amazing benefit imho.
that’s exactly how I feel! I need to be able to use the monthlies as soon as I move into the planner for it to feel functional.
Cool. I love it
I am so happy to see you using a Hobonichi weeks again😁🥳 i also use the my 100 for movies and I watched 91 including cartoons and reality shows😆 I aggree with having the trackers in your edc. I ended up putting all mine in the weeks for same reason. Thanks for sharing, Rachel! Love your videos🥰
Thank you, Cecilia!! (& thank you for the kind words!) The Hobonichi weeks is really the perfect little on the go planner.
What a great setup! I love all of the trackers you've included and how it's bujo-adjacent but without the added pressure of making it look fancy. I actually am using my first Hobonichi planner this year as well, and I have the same weeks mega that you do! I was so excited when I ordered it in October at a clearanced price, and saw that I could start using it during the week of Thanksgiving; it was the perfect way to get used to the layout and try different spreads on the blank notes pages. I'm looking forward to your other setup videos!
thanks!! that's exactly what I was going for. I need one thing in my lineup to be bare bones function (to the extent possible, because i love stickers and will add some when I have time lol) & hope you continue to enjoy the hobonichi weeks!
i love this set up rachel!!!! wish we were going to the same conference in march 😭
thank you, lauren!! and me too!!
