Thank you for showing what a Ryobi Edger can really do with actual overgrown edges. So many others, just show it on lawns that have already been edged.
I can sympathize with you on the price issue. Based on the prices reported in YT vids, it appears this model (new) has increased roughly 50% in the US over the past year or so. Congrats - looks like you got a good one. Nicely done.
That looks good. I also bought one of these. I also bought 2 of the 4a batteries. After the first time of edging, the next times I can do my whole corner lot sidewalks, curbs, and driveway with 1 4a battery.
Yea mate maybe that would be a good idea if they ever make an updated one. I still reckon it makes less mess and more controlled debris than a line trimmer.
your right about the flying debris. When there are cars parked close I have tall cardboard box close to the edger to prevent small rocks flying into the parked cars. I think if the edger went in the other direction you would just be dealing with a ugly mess by your feet and spend way too much time stopping the unit to constantly clean out the dirt from the guard.
mine failed around the 2 year mark. motor failure. I'm not sure if the 9amp battery was the cause as i notice there was more torque and there was less pausing when edging tougher lawns.
@@KiwiLawnie I submitted for warranty, took 3 months for a replacement. The issue is, I'm reluctant to use it in the same manner as I'm certain the motor is just underpowered for such a job.. Fast forward 1 year.... I do see an updated version of the edger, (ghastly expensive) but specs are nowhere to be found.
I used a whole 4ah battery before I finished and just had a little bit left so had to put another battery in. Lasts a lot longer when the grass isnt so overgrown and thick though

Hey thanks a lot I really appreciate your comment :) Hopefully you enjoyed the video!
Cleaned up nicely 👍
Yep a lot better haha
I am gpoing to get one when I have enough money to buy one, Looks great and does a great job. Thankyou.
Nice I definitely recommend it! This video is quite old and I've still got the edger and still going strong. Does a great job and easy to use.

Yea i'm very happy with my one! Thanks for your comment :)

Yep when its long and overgrown it goes through batteries quick but once it's done it's a lot easier
Ive tried my line trimmer on this stuff but na it struggles😅
Haha yea man it's tough stuff! Line trimmer is ok for regular maintenance but hard work if you are cutting back some overgrown edges!! thanks buddy
I hate how it shoots debris forward rather than backwards towards a rubber guard, for me that’s a design flaw.

@@KiwiLawnie would be cool if they had a switch to reverse the direction, like a little toggle switch like the ones on a drill.

That's a shame mate! Did you try warranty it? 2 years isn't long

How long does the battery last ?
