    OH WOW how come I have not seen this before. This is an awesome way to do a book. Love the way you put the signatures in there. I have never seen this done before but am sure I will be using this idea a lot. I like sewing but sometimes I don't feel like doing that with my signature, so this comes in very strong. Thank you once again for sharing your awesome work. LOL By the way I have that TOOL also and use it a lot.

    Happy Day to you too Tinne. That journal is adorable and I love how you decorated the outside. I think I want to make myself one as a Reading Journal to go with my Bible (KJV). I am going to make mine a TN Standard size and I just know it will be so useful to me for my reading.I am going to use some lovely paper that I bought from you a while ago and use the little journal sheets that you custom did for me so long ago. So thank YOU!

    I would suggest a book binder's cradle for this Trying to pumch holes with an awl into the signature, the then trying to get the same holes to perfectly line up with the spine chipboard.... yea, you need to be so precise to get a staple to line up with the holes enough that you can punch down the feet into the chipboard bottom. Also, use a deeper staple so the legs really extend into the back side of the signature. Interesting concept. Still easier than sewing the signature into the spine for sur.

    I will try this method in spite of rheumatoid arthritis! Really nice thought processes TInne. Did you come up with it while sleeping, or when restless because you have too many ideas in your mind? I have written music in my sleep so often! I have to get up, record the tune or write the lyrics so I don't confuse them with other thoughts that pop up after those.

    Thank you! That is a great alternative to sewing! I wonder if it would still open and close properly if you glued the first and last pages to the covers? You probably for sure could glue a page onto the covers that overlapped the spine board up to the first (or last) signature, do you think??

    • @vectoriadesigns
      @vectoriadesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if that would work. I tried using one page to cover the inside, but that didn't turn out well with the opening and the closing of the cover.

    Thank you for the idea. I noticed some people said the tape you used may deteriorate and wondered if cloth tape would work? Also, could you put a piece of the tape on each side of the cardboard that the signatures are on to help keep it them in place?

    • @vectoriadesigns
      @vectoriadesigns  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think cloth tape would work at least as well, maybe even better. Extra tape would surely help, but only if you want it visible.

    Fab idea but in my experience useing double sided tape a few years down the libd it deteratates and comes away I've had many projects fall apart useing tape even the strongest on the market. Useing wet glue and grips to keep it in place while it drys works for me now.
