- Chelsea Denofa might be the only person on planet Earth that has made a BMW 318ti look dope... and it's got the performance to match. Swapped with an S54 from a e46 BMW M3, it's got enough grunt to have fun with while also being reliable enough to survive something like Drift Week 2020. And while the stubby looks of this chopped e36 may not suit most people, there's no denying that having such little overhang allows you to get pretty rowdy when throwing it sideways.

Chelsea’s ti has always been one of my favorite drift cars ever, not only because of the model being special in itself, but how Chelsea built it. So many people have problems with mainstream drift cars that put them out of drifting but the unique problems Chelsea had to overcome weren’t even problems at all. Being able to perform so well and with that grip with stiff springs and low tire pressure is really a testament to Chelsea and a 318 ti’s ability.
Endurance drifting would be a sick sub-genre!!!!

I actually love this car. As soon as I seen it on Chelsea's channel. I fell for it. My wheels have been turning with build ideas ever since then.
This is the Hoonigan video I've been waiting for! My first BMW was a Hellrot Red 318Ti just like this, but not NEARLY as cool, but just as clapped out.

Compacts/Ti's are super popular here in the UK and Europe, they're everywhere.
And although the M43 and 40 suck, the M42 and 44 are super strong engines, and they make enough power to party in 2nd gear lol
Better off buying a coupe though, far more pretty

I dont miss my 318, it was garbage to work on, repair parts were expensive, handled worse than my AE86, u joints on the driveshaft could not be swapped I needed to buy a whole new drive shaft. but seeing it in action with an M3 drivetrain maybe gives it a whole other experience
I daily an S52 swapped 318ti. Truly the best thing ever.
Was it just me or was Chelsea holding back yelling “NO this drift week is for us not everyone!” A public drift week is a horrible idea! A bunch of people getting 1-2 laps drifting then driving for hours a repeating for a week, just doesn’t work.

It's the ugly duckling of the E36 range, but if it's in good condition and with some nice wheels, they can look pretty good

Drag week everyone comes to party and anyone is encouraged to come have fun. Where as Drift week is only for the privileged few and invite only elitist thus far. Not Cool at all considering they want us all to buy their merch and watch there videos but we can't come watch the show live...

Are all drift cars like this? Full DIY, I hope they will be scrapped afterwards. Drifting is really a very ... special discipline and young people don't care about the condition of their cars
Shut yo ass up. Drifting is not a cheap sport and some people just do the best with what they got. Not everyone can pull absurd amount of money out the ass for parts
Frankly, Chelsea's car is a good example of a "simple" drift car: there's nothing inherently wrong with it, and it's reliable.
The kinds of cars some people drift on the street, and around industrial estates and roundabouts... Yeah they're sketchy. But Chelsea's car is fine
So No, not all drift cars are like this. Many are worse, and many are better. It all depends on budget and the car's purpose.
Over here, a budget car might be a Lexus is200 with chopped springs and hand-cut and welded knuckles.
