These reels are on another level. In-game it's so easy to miss these animation details cause you're fighting them. These machines are what makes this franchise so unique.
As an animator myself, I always spend a lot of time analyzing and admiring the work put on every element of any videogame I play, but Horizon is something else entirely. The machines feel so alive, they're beautiful in their own way. Thanks for sharing this, it's great to be able to watch this without having to run for my life. :)
Thanks for your comment that's really kind. It's nice to see more animators here ! I do the same myself and constantly browse other people's work, it's always inspiring.
I love this franchise with all my heart. It holds the most precious place in my life. I have so many memories I cherish that are around the character of Aloy. And one of my favorite pass time is to watch these machines move around the world with their intricately designed magesty. They're beautiful! Thank you for the hard work! Thank you for making them! Your collective work is deeply appreciated! Love from South Africa.
I'm in love with this game! 😍 The whole concept of creating a Childhood's dream come true (futureristic robo-dinosaurs in the prehistoric times) is the greatest thing ever! 🤩🦖🦕
Thank you so much for your work. When they announced the sequel usually it sucks but everything is just a step above from its predecessor. You guys did a very good job and I'm sure when the DLC comes out you guys will do a great job.
These animations are true art, I love the Horizon games for how they design their machines to seem like a living animal! So much character packed into every frame! Gorgeous!
Incredible! :) I can't stop playing the sequel, too. (I had ~1,200 hours in Horizon Zero Dawn, and have ~280 hours in Forbidden West.) Camille, could you please tell me who's responsible for water bodies at Guerrilla? I'd like to send a know-how about an almost-zero-load refraction solution but don't know who to contact with. I want Guerrilla to make this final breakthrough relating water render in games (not another developer company).
He Merion thanks a lot for your comment it's a pleasure to read you enjoy our games! You can always contact Guerrilla through the usual social media platforms, like twitter, a lot of devs on there usually read what everyone has to say! :)
@@camillemjx9674 well, that’s the problem. I wrote to around 8 members including Mathijs, but no one has even read my message, even if I tweeted a notification to them. This is why I try to get the info about who’s the developer responsible for water from you here. It could be so cool if waters had refraction. It requires so much less computing power that even a DOS-version Tomb Raider 1 could have achievedcc it (it almost did it) I would give the know-how free. Just nobody responds. :D You’re the first who actually did. Could not you please help me through this barrier?
Very nice! I was wondering if you also needed to do technical stuff, like when their feet need to touch the ground depending on the incline? I think it’s called procedural animation. Sorry if I described that quite weirdly.
One annoying bug that so far it seems they haven't noticed or fixed is that many machines are missing the antenna component, Thunderjaw, Ravager, Bellowback, Stalker, Tideripper, Skydrifter, Shell-Walker all say in the diary that they should have an antenna that it's a weak point, but it doesn't have it, it's not something that interferes with the gameplay but it's a detail that affects the look of the machines, the Ravager, for example, lost its tail lol the Thunderjaw was also very strange without the antenna.
Did you and the team ever worked with robotic engineers to see whether your design were somewhat realistic or did you went purely on the artistic and didn't care of physics at all?
Thank you so much for your incredible work. This franchise has been a dream to play over the years. A true high point in the games industry
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad that you liked our animations and our game!
The way these machines move, so natural, absolutely gorgeous. If your work isn't art I don't know what is, congratulations!
Wow! Thank you!!

You can only imagine the feat of engineering to even design those beasts!
I'm just in love with how the robot elephants look, move and attack.
Love watching the herds or the bigger machines move about
im kinda glad i never ended up seeing the booty vacuum from the hippo when i hunted them i think i would have died due to laughter
Hahaha best comment!! The widemaw was a funny one to animate!
Whenever I see the machines, I can't help but think about the Rahi from Bionicle.
Technically machines, yet also surprisingly organic and alien.
You guys are so iconic and talented.
This looks amazing, awesome work👍
Thanks a lot!

Haha, you were too busy demolishing big machines to notice!
It would be easier to follow and watch the videos, if all of you could bring them together on one channel and not spread over multiple channels
