Hey man, could you ask if they plan on adding a K&M feature to console. I see it a lot in Discords and forums for POE and other games, and would love to hear what they’re thinking about this topic.
@@lordhandsomeswag1854 There is a chance they could. They are trying to appeal to casuals as well as the core community they have already built. Very, very easy to alienate either side with a few changes. If they some how master the onboarding of new players while still keeping the depth then sure, they'll dominate the genre for the next 10 years but that is a monumental ask.

You know the people at GGG are gamers at heart, so if they're gonna make a console version they'll make sure they don't compromise their PC version unlike other more shallow-thinking studios.
@@alcovitch There are a few main reasons why it is really nice for me. My best equipment is used on my PC setup. Yea, I've moved my Ps5 to that location, but other times it's nice to have your console in a different location. PC also usually performs and looks better. Another big one is that Sony charges to play multiplayer with other people not on the console. Lastly, if Diablo 4 had properly implemented this feature I wouldn't even own a Ps5 so it wouldn't even be an option.
It's the sole reason i haven't bought d4, we're going in 2024 and it should be a no brainer of designing a couch play for pc users too, cause i ain't buying a console for that anymore i've done it with d3, and it was such a waste of time and money that i won't be doing it again.
It will all hinge on how easy the onboarding is imo. That skill tree still looks like a horror scene so personally still on the fence. Everything else i've seen looks really, really good though.

This is so great news, up until the State of Play there wasn’t any information about console release and cross play. This is way better than expected. Also in case you missed it, even couch coop on pc is supported.
Bro... I loved Diablo 4 couch play. And the game was pretty incomplete in initial seasons, but loved it. Can't to test it on PoE2 too. It will be my first PoE experience.
The more I look at it the more poe2 seems like Diablo 4, at least in terms of graphic details, animation, couch co op, that is literally the same also in the way the hud is splitted, the more action focused combact with the dash, here seems even more arcade compared to Diablo 4, even LE it’s going to add it, and all the cross play things with consoles, I like when games copies from each other in the right ways, I can’t wait to prove it, we have another contender in town

There's not enough buttons on a controller to play this game it seems. 5 potion buttons + 10 skill slots, then movement, direction. I'll try it but I'm skeptical.
It'll prolly have a system like D2R. The 4 face buttons, then hold a trigger and the same 4 buttons, then hold the other trigger and those buttons, then maybe even holding both triggers and using the buttons
The real question for most of us here though is when is GTA 6 coming to PC? PoE 2 will surely be out before that. I don't want to play GTA 6 on my consoles vs. my PC, it's depressing to think about.

I'm infuriated while playing D4 after 20 years on D2 on a crappy laptop. Controller gameplay is by far inferior to m&k and it inherently limits the player by restricting what we're allowed to pick up from the ground and by which enemy we're allowed to target. Without a cursor to choose, we're forced to hit the closest enemy our character is facing vs what we want to hit. Also, PC has 3 play inputs while console only has 1. There's no excuse.
Honestly, I have been eyeing the Steam deck for a long time. The idea is attractive, I just can't see myself enjoying most things I play on one, especially PoE. Now, If PoE2 is really good QoL on consoles and by extension, the deck, I'd seriously consider buying one. Casual PoE mapping or whatever on break at work or while laying on the bed at home, etc. is a dream of mine, lol.
problem with Poe is the complexity and gearing up. If they haven't changed anything, the game will not be for anyone els than what they already have with Poe1. The way you have to trade on external websites and buy items from other people is so annoying that i hate playing Poe1. This problem might not be there for people who can sink 8-16 hours into the game every day, but for a person who might be able to get 2 hours in a good day, its extremely hard. You wont find the currency to craft, and you wont find the gear you need. D4, does this very well, within 2 hours, you should atleast find 1 or 2 items that is better or can be better with a single reroll. ANd the mats you got plenty of. Poe, you will need to have deep pockets and buy currency for real money, to have the same feeling of progression as you could have in D4.
so I have a question. is this game gonna be just as or more complex than poe 1 ? I recently got into poe since all the other arpgs just dont do it for me. Poe overall gave me the highest peaks of enjoyment of all arpgs I have played but at the same time it has the single most atrocious new player experience, the game does not explain shit, even beginning to understand how the most basic of basic mechanics work takes literal hours of extra curricular studies on wikis and year+ old guide videos where some things are outdated, there is no good way to search exactly what information you need so every time I end up sifting through 2+ hour videos or gigantic wiki pages. The fact that there is such a thing as "noob trap" builds is ridiculous, I was going for cyclone slayer build as my first thinking what self respecting arpg worth its salt would not have a spin to win build, well, needles to say I got fucked and the character I put days into leveling, going through the campaign just basically got softlocked out of progressing any further. POE 2 looks fucking bonkers good, I cant wait to try it, but if it will be anything like poe 1 in the regard to complexity for new players, i dont care if the game sucks your dick and does your laundry while you play im fucking out.
I don't understand why anyone thinks the twin stick/directional block feature is going to be good. I really don't think that it is. Especially in endgame when you're swarmed and are screen nuking - you really want to pay attention to that specific detail on screen and divert your right thumb constantly to the analog from shooting off your powers? I mean maybe I'm just a spaz or something, but that doesn't sound good to me. Directional blocking just sounds like an unnecessary detail for this genre.
News about cross play makes me worried, we all know that a lot of game devs need to downscale games to make it work on console. I am not talking about graphics but things like amount of entities on screen, mob density etc. Hopefully GGG will figure something out.
Thank God, I was tired of PoE glazers saying "there's no reason for crossplay." I quit PoE bc console PoE is utter trash. It still has solo self found gearing and crafting economy issues and the lack of trading only took it from a bad to the worst arpg.
This is a dream come true. I was worried about PoE2 because my PC is trash and I was worried the console release/eco system would be totally seperate, but now I can play without any stupid restrictions. Amazing!

Couch co-op needs to make a comeback, I had 2 buddies that used to love playing Champions of Norrath together we made full days out of playing and it was always a blast.
As a lover of PoE, I also realize that it will never gain a mainstream audience with how deep and complicated it is. DM touched on this at the 7 minute mark with the skill tree being just one example. PoE 2 will be no different a few weeks after launch when the majority of people hit their inevitable brick wall. I really hope GGG makes a concentrated effort in PoE 2 to ease people in with way better tool-tips and help videos in-game to teach new players. I don't think this can be understated enough how important this would be. If you're a fan of ARPG's, you want as many casual franchises to be as successful as possible. That's why the Diablo franchise and other more casual arpg's are so important to help grow the genre and in return, also help grow PoE. If they stick around and want more, PoE is there waiting all by itself and Free to Play with no barrier to entry besides downloading the game.
The only thing I want from this game, is to be able to play it without following a build. I want to experiment myself. POE punishes you for this, really bad.
Worried about it being twin stick. If you’re always needing to control your direction, how will you cast a spell and control your direction at the same time? Youd have to leave your thumb stick to cast a spell with the buttons

The #1 item I would ask you to keep in mind is that console players don't have a keyboard. Any time a virtual keyboard opens be suspicious if a UI could have done better. Do you need to type in a filter? There should be a check box. Do you need to describe your item at the auction house? Probably not acceptable. Do you need to invite your friend to a party? Ok that's a reasonable one. Diablo 4 does NOT get this right. Another thing, console does not have a mouse so things like clicking through empty spots in your inventory to manage it is annoying. Diablo 3 did an awesome job of this and just used a list instead of a grid. Diablo 4 you can't even move your items around in the grid with the controller. Inventory management on a grid with controller is something to focus on.

Yes they said you can manage inventory with a controller and hot keys, but playing on a grid sucks when you have to click through every box after 200 hours.

GGG always makes their videos slower paced even for Path of exile 1 otherwise you'd never know wtf was going on. POE1 is the fastest arpg on the market by miles.
@@Deminese2 Ok.. but that's a bit of coping imo. POE devs definitely stated that they want POE 2 to be Much more slow paced/tactical and it seems like it would be smart to trust them on their word if they say that.
@@Habib_Osman I'd agree but I keep up with all the interviews and Jonathon one of the directors said they are not deliberately slowng the game down and have recently gone back on making supports not adding dmg in any way. Theres definitely going to be increased speed in poe2 but you're never going to have 200% movement speed. No quicksilver flasks for one. There is a balance between speed and thoughtful combat and they are trying to walk that tightrope.

@@Habib_Osman hard to say but no quicksilver and no traversal skills that can be spammed will significantly slow it down. Just to clarify there is shield charge and leap slam but they have a ton of windup and are meant to stun or do whatever combo. Probably slower than walking. Take that as you will. Traversal nerfs alone are a massive slow down.

i play d4 with my kids couch co-op and it's great, really glad they are running with it too

The fact that there is such a thing as "noob trap" builds is ridiculous, I was going for cyclone slayer build as my first thinking what self respecting arpg worth its salt would not have a spin to win build, well, needles to say I got fucked and the character I put days into leveling, going through the campaign just basically got softlocked out of progressing any further. POE 2 looks fucking bonkers good, I cant wait to try it, but if it will be anything like poe 1 in the regard to complexity for new players, i dont care if the game sucks your dick and does your laundry while you play im fucking out.
I don't understand why anyone thinks the twin stick/directional block feature is going to be good. I really don't think that it is. Especially in endgame when you're swarmed and are screen nuking - you really want to pay attention to that specific detail on screen and divert your right thumb constantly to the analog from shooting off your powers? I mean maybe I'm just a spaz or something, but that doesn't sound good to me. Directional blocking just sounds like an unnecessary detail for this genre.
News about cross play makes me worried, we all know that a lot of game devs need to downscale games to make it work on console. I am not talking about graphics but things like amount of entities on screen, mob density etc. Hopefully GGG will figure something out.
Thank God, I was tired of PoE glazers saying "there's no reason for crossplay." I quit PoE bc console PoE is utter trash. It still has solo self found gearing and crafting economy issues and the lack of trading only took it from a bad to the worst arpg.
This is a dream come true. I was worried about PoE2 because my PC is trash and I was worried the console release/eco system would be totally seperate, but now I can play without any stupid restrictions. Amazing!

How will console players load their build into Path of Building to theorycraft? Or, is the game actually gonna be a normal game where you would be able to access that information in-game and not spend hours in spreadsheets and pob
Couch co-op needs to make a comeback, I had 2 buddies that used to love playing Champions of Norrath together we made full days out of playing and it was always a blast.
As a lover of PoE, I also realize that it will never gain a mainstream audience with how deep and complicated it is. DM touched on this at the 7 minute mark with the skill tree being just one example. PoE 2 will be no different a few weeks after launch when the majority of people hit their inevitable brick wall. I really hope GGG makes a concentrated effort in PoE 2 to ease people in with way better tool-tips and help videos in-game to teach new players. I don't think this can be understated enough how important this would be.
If you're a fan of ARPG's, you want as many casual franchises to be as successful as possible. That's why the Diablo franchise and other more casual arpg's are so important to help grow the genre and in return, also help grow PoE. If they stick around and want more, PoE is there waiting all by itself and Free to Play with no barrier to entry besides downloading the game.
The only thing I want from this game, is to be able to play it without following a build. I want to experiment myself. POE punishes you for this, really bad.
Worried about it being twin stick. If you’re always needing to control your direction, how will you cast a spell and control your direction at the same time? Youd have to leave your thumb stick to cast a spell with the buttons

Diablo 4 with an Xbox controller is pretty solid. Inventory skills and menu I jump to keyboard and mouse.
I play Diablo 4 on ps5 on 65inch tv 4K graphic is amazing characters move so smooth it’s fantastic experience.
The #1 item I would ask you to keep in mind is that console players don't have a keyboard. Any time a virtual keyboard opens be suspicious if a UI could have done better. Do you need to type in a filter? There should be a check box. Do you need to describe your item at the auction house? Probably not acceptable. Do you need to invite your friend to a party? Ok that's a reasonable one.
Diablo 4 does NOT get this right.
Another thing, console does not have a mouse so things like clicking through empty spots in your inventory to manage it is annoying. Diablo 3 did an awesome job of this and just used a list instead of a grid. Diablo 4 you can't even move your items around in the grid with the controller. Inventory management on a grid with controller is something to focus on.

Update: all my comments stand but I'm glad DM got another view. Yes they said you can manage inventory with a controller and hot keys, but playing on a grid sucks when you have to click through every box after 200 hours.

I would say I'm dropping D4 for this game but I basically already have.

GGG always makes their videos slower paced even for Path of exile 1 otherwise you'd never know wtf was going on. POE1 is the fastest arpg on the market by miles.
@@Deminese2 Ok.. but that's a bit of coping imo. POE devs definitely stated that they want POE 2 to be Much more slow paced/tactical and it seems like it would be smart to trust them on their word if they say that.
@@Habib_Osman I'd agree but I keep up with all the interviews and Jonathon one of the directors said they are not deliberately slowng the game down and have recently gone back on making supports not adding dmg in any way. Theres definitely going to be increased speed in poe2 but you're never going to have 200% movement speed. No quicksilver flasks for one. There is a balance between speed and thoughtful combat and they are trying to walk that tightrope.

So.. I'm not so sure anymore what they will do. Let me ask it like this: how much slower/more tactical do you think poe 2 will be? Will it be like 80% slower, or just 30% slower? I don't know.
@@Habib_Osman hard to say but no quicksilver and no traversal skills that can be spammed will significantly slow it down. Just to clarify there is shield charge and leap slam but they have a ton of windup and are meant to stun or do whatever combo. Probably slower than walking. Take that as you will. Traversal nerfs alone are a massive slow down.

Yes and no. I think movement is easier on controller but aiming and inventory management is brutal
I like controller for ergonomics and moving but inventory management is king on mouse
for moba players moving with mouse is a breeze
