my horse used to be a fox hunter but then he moved to a different barn and was completely neglected, no food, no water, and tied to a shed. he was pure bone. he also became blind in one eye so he licks to get to know you. now he’s a jumper and he trusts me with all his heart. so to simply priceless (henry) i love you. :)
Confused. Didn't you visit him everyday or at least once a week? When my one was in training, I drove every day to check on him. He was my top proprietary. Then he came home. All was OK.
These horses are trained professionals. And they love this. They wouldn't endure the hunt if not capable of doing it. These riders know the potential of their horse. And any true horse person never asks more than their horse can. I've hunted for years. My qualified hunter enjoy the outing. Once only 5 of us remained in the field after the hunt was over. We wanted more, but let the horses
But let the horses decide. They could see the stables. But all 5 horses turned back into the hunt country. No guidance from us, we threw away the reins. Another hr & we came in. Even when I'd put him & my other thoroughbred in my schooling field, he'd run & jump over the jumps kicking his heels up. If the horse is in a discipline they are capable of doing ,& trained right, yes they enjoy their jobs.
Pls, if you're not experienced in horses& the disciplines, don't say the horse is being abused. We ask nothing of our horses that we won't do. If the horse 🐴 is trained for its job. They like it. My hunter always gets excited going to a meet. I'd say the horses these people hunt are well cared for. My horse always comes 1st before me. My meals & bath comes after I've gotten him settled in. 3ft of straw. Nice meal & water. And this after I rub him down & groom him. I'd die before he'd be hurt. I've sat all night with him if he's off a bit. He loves his job.
It’s absolutely disgusting that someone could do this to their horse. It’s asking for a broken leg. These people obviously don’t care about their horses
Well they fox hunt. Can't expect someone who delights in watching an animal being torn apart by a pack of dogs to give a hoot about his horse's well being.
Ok outlaw all hunters!!! At least foxhunting, the injured animal shot or hit with an arrow is allowed to crawl away to suffer a long painful death slowly bleeding to death. Foxes are predators, kill livestock & pets. Farmers ask we hunt. Plus others also hunt foxes. Give it a rest. We only ask from our horse what we're doing. And we know the capabilities of our horse. They're trained for this. Of course it's a dangerous sports. Many are. Do you condem & stop them? Or is it deep down jealousy you feel?
@@Joe-ng9ny good morning joe and a very happy holiday to you. Thank you for your response, however the original reply was my daughter who was using my TH-cam account at the time for a number of years, as this comment was 11 months ago that would make her only 12 at the time, I suppose I don’t whip my children hard when they don’t do what I ask and I’m guessing in her mind set of comparison as a 12 year old this sport makes no sense to her. I think there could be an educational response that our older, “wiser” generation could give to explain why this is rather than just trolling on a platform and giving reactive responses to the audience. But thanks again for your reply I’ll be sure to let her know how hard you whip your horse when he doesn’t do as you ask and a very happy new year to you.
The crops are used as a non painful cue (familiar message) to the horse. Inflicting pain would not help the riders goal of continuing through the bog, etc.
wow well done of the little girl on the pony who did not fell off after the dich or during the dich. Wonderful pony doing its best even thought he/she got trubbled with the big horse

I'm English married to an Irishman. I grew-up in a hunting family but thanks to my marriage have enjoyed hunting in Ireland for the last 3 decades too. Irish hunting has always been my favourite. It's not so stuck-up. No riders only hunting to social climb. Those people have no real love of riding or hunting. Irish hunts are just so much fun (well the occasional huge ditch not so much 🤦😮) Yes the usual English hunting etiquette tends to vanish but the Irish fields I have hunted with are so much more friendlier. Chaos at times but that for me has always been part of the charm. And there is still the chance for a kill which whether you like it or not is the whole point of the sport. Sorry for the squimish but I was blooded as a child (yes I am that old 😂) If you go through that tradition and enjoy the moment then you are hooked for life.

@@equine2020they likely didn’t own the horse was probs just the horse they used to ride at that barn etc
As a horse rider, I don’t understand how you can ask something so dangerous and painfully to your horse.
Horses enjoy it😅

Remember we're risking our necks too. If we think a particular jump is too difficult, we'll seek another path.

I had to STOP at 6:19!!! NAUSEATING!! Was there a BILLION DOLLAR PURSE or SOMETHING??????

Just shows that some humans are a cancer to this earth

What's a hoot?

Superb horsemanship shown here ! And what well behaved hounds. 👍
Yes because the hound's and horses are beaten to $hit with whips and stick's if they don't keep in line you Dum dum.
That is appalling if I was in that hunt I would be raging and Ofc not do it I love my
Pony Marley x
I feel so bad for the horses and ponies. They are forced to do something so dangerous and if they don’t do it they get whipped, smacked and kicked!
Tracy Cullen I ride, and if the horse or pony refused to jump, then the horse or pony deserves to be whipped hard.

@@j.c.764Padded whip does not hurt the horse, but i ride out with a normal crop, which is better.

5.29, 6:32 good rides, 6:45, poor horse. 8:34, yup stay in bed and leave the impatient kid home too. Such a good little pony
Get that stupid ditch sorted😂
This just reminded me why i don’t like double ditches 😅
❤
No strained ligaments or wrecked shoulder joints/fetlocks/knees in these hunts.
Superb the best hunting footage as always welcome back
Has your huntsman retired ? I used to admire his control over hounds when unboxing !
No. He's still there but some days he takes a back seat and let's that other girl hunt.
Thanks for watching.
@@brishorl Thank you. I commented too soon ; I saw him later in the video !
All I could think about the poor horses ankles
Love your videos from Seattle, Wa. USA
Thanks for watching
Good to see you back. Hope you are all well
Great to be back. How long we'll get out of it is anyone's guess. 🙄🙄🙄
Brian my heart is in my throat with the first double oxer jump. 🌻
Get them warmed up for the day ahead. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow difficulty there, but the youngster in red/hat at 9 minutes did really well, loved the video..
The child on the pony doesn't know the first thing about the etiquette and rules of hunting. I hope she was disciplined by the master at hunt's end.
Which child??
@@brishorl The child who sent her pony on to the rise between banks while there was a rider already there in mid-jump.
Missed you all. Glad things are returning to normal.
Thank you. Glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for watching.
Great video. Well ridden everyone!
Great video again... I hope the rider who fell of the beautiful grey (white) horse was ok...
She broke her back 😂🤣🤘👍💩
I love hunting since I was 1
