Very cool video! May I ask does "hunting" here means riding horses on a trail mimicing the tactics without actual animal killing involved? I'm a foreigner trying to learn a few more things about Ireland.
I’m not sure about this particular one wether they are doing this without the dogs, but usually there will be someone who leaves a trail of fox pee (no fox) and then they have hounds follow the trail and then a few lots of horses behind them

we had in the past some friends from Ireland and England to hunt the deer with us in France , we took a riding lesson from them ! but they took a hunt lesson too 😉

They were double ditches, most of them , I had a bad fall in one of those, the horse fell on top of me !!! it was the soft mud that saved me, where was that hunt please ?

That's some crazy terrain you are braving! JUmping ditch after ditch with a tiny landing zone and trees JUST wide enough apart to land between (if you are lucky enough to be dead centre.) Enjoyable from where I sit thank you; won't be joining you however!! LOL
Must say every rider and horse is decked out beautifully. But much of that money should have gone to better riding instructions. and why is everyone so batched up? Hardly a hunt. Try a nice trail ride.

Only the ignorance call it abuse. These horses are trained athletes, the riders experienced in cross country riding. My horse alway get excited when he knows we're going to the hunt. We never ask more of them, than they can give. Only fools misuse their horse.
It's just terrible what is asked of the horses and irresponsible of the riders...the horses are stressed because they would never go down such paths voluntarily 👎👎👎👎

@@TheRaspberry82 I have been around horses for 40 years and have had one at my side for 18 years. The good nature of the horses is exploited so that the riders have fun and the horses do what is asked of them to please people, but by nature they would avoid such terrain unless they are on the run
Appalling behaviour, what a terrible way to treat beautiful Animals. Its a shame you have no respect for your Horses. Go out for a hack round the beautiful countryside, that you are lucky to have,or a good canter on the beach. But most of all get a life 😢and grow up. No wonder we have to have IHWT /ILPH and other such amazing places. ❤
