Judging the Key Elements: First Drop- Iron Gwazi Outward Bank: Steel Vengeance First Inversion: Iron Gwazi's Death Roll Wave Turn- Iron Gwazi Stall - Steel Vengeance- although neither coaster has the best RMC stall Additional Air Time off the drop- Push- both are great- too close to call Bunny Hill Air Time- Steel Vengeance Steel Vengeance should get points of the big air time hill, the twisting air time hill, and the double up into the mid course. Can't forget about the double up. The inversion on SV is really a push with that last inversion on IG. Iron Gwazi is more intense and I think has the better pacing Steel Vengeance has much more air time. After 26 rides on Iron Gwazi and roughly 35-40 on Steel Vengeance: I have Steel Vengeance as my #1 overall and Iron Gwazi as my #3 overall.
If operations were considered, that would definitely be a point for Steve. IG’s can be so bad at times. Also I actually like Steve’s “stall” type inversion a lot better, and I think it should’ve gotten a point for the double up ;)
Just rode IG for the first time. Man that drop in the back row is something else. Scariest drop on any coaster. I can't decide but I will say if IG had 1,000 more feet of track to play with it would easily top SV.
Haven't been on SV, though I'm a FL resident so I compared Velocicoaster to IG and yes they are very different rides but PERSONALLY, I think Velocicoaster was the better overall ride. The theming and best second half of any ride I have ever been on.
I personally think Hagrid’s really long name coaster has better theming, and it may just be the best themed coaster out of the 127 coasters I have been on
Both sides definitely seem very debatable. It seems like it mostly comes down to quality vs quantity depending on personal preference. Great video though!
The last zero g roll on Steve also known as the car crash roll definitely hits way harder than you would expect if you don't know that weird transition is coming.
In crazy factors, IG takes the upper hand. One thing to know, that a signature thing that RMCs put into their layout is airtime, and to be honest, to the newer RMC's, like ArieForce One or Steel Vengeance, IG lacks a bit of it. It has some surprising airtime parts, but not a lot of airtime moments, so in terms of getting flown out of your seat, SV takes the cake.
"You don't compare one Hatori Hanzo to another, you compare Hatori Hanzo to every sword that ISN'T a Hatori Hanzo." Bud had a point here. Same for RMC. you compare them to every coaster that ISN'T an RMC.
There seems to be a pretty intense war going on in the comments here despite the video disclaimer 😂 It’s actually really cool to see a coaster come out that can rival SV like this.
I’ll be riding Iron Gwazi in 2 weeks! Steel Vengeance is my current #1. Crazy to think it could possibly slip to #3 by the time I return after being my #1 for 4 years.
@@mostly.coasters Oh man, after a nightmare experience renting a car at the airport I got to my hotel just as my Astros won the World Series. It took nearly 4 hours to get from the tarmac to the hotel. Then, after seeing the final out, my wife looked at me and said “Baaaabe….Reddit says Iron Gwazi is closed all week” 😬
I think it's interesting to take points away from SV's laterals for being jarring. I think that's the point, and the whole charm of the ride. It feels like just a little too much, just a little out of control. I've never found it ACTUALLY uncomfortable, but just a little more than you'd expect, triggering a little feeling of danger. One of my friends I introduced to it walked off asking me "that's allowed?!" Anyway that's not to take away from Gwazi one bit, which looks like a phenomenal ride I can't wait to get on
Regarding pacing, since Steel Vengeance is so much longer, it is understandable that the pacing does not feel as strong, but if you were to stop Steel Vengeance at the same length as IG, would the pacing feel similar? I am saying SV has so much more track length to bleed off energy, is it a fair comparison? A longer Coaster is going to feel slower at than end when compared to a shorter Coaster.
I think if you stop Steel Vengeance after 4,000 ft. Iron Gwazi still has the better pacing. I don't think SV feels slow towards the end by any means. If anything, I think the pacing is strongest in the second half of that ride.
Gwazi is more aggressive overall if that's what you are desiring. However actual ride enjoyment I give to Steel Vengeance. But to each their own. I came off Gwazi looking for a ice water and smelling salts. Lol Steel Vengeance I'd be apt to ride back to back. I prefer airtime coasters not scramble your brain ones. But once again just a preference. Both are definitely cool rides very different in over all feel.
The only thing IG has on SV is the craziness factor, which *might* be enough to surpass it, butttttt other than that, SV pretty much has everything IG has at least, some of them being notably better
This is all a matter of opinion, there's no right or wrong answers, just comes down to personal preference. I think people who ride either SteVe or IG will have a hell of a time either way.
My only complaint with this video is the element comparison section is inherently biased twords Iron Gwazi. IG is much more focused on having bigger individual elements, while STEVE Is more focused on sequences of smaller elements that blend togeather. Of corse an element on IG that's 3x times the size of the 'comparable' element on STEVE.
I think steve should get more credit for being nearly twice as long of a ride. Some of the elements on gwazi narrowly beat steve so i wouldnt even say its quantity over quality. If gwazis elements are an A and steve has a way longer ride with B+to A- elements ,ill take that all day. Duration should be a bigger factor in my opinion. Same reason im not a huge fan of TTD , its just too short.
Mid vengeance gets so boring after break run honestly I was expecting so much more from it with how overhyped it was, but iron gwazi just takes the cake for everything What an inane ride
Does Iron Gwazi have the same loading process as steel vengeance? What I mean is the metal detector and locker situation right before you load the platform? Because I found that process absolutely ridiculous and definitely worth a negative point IMO for Steel Vengeance. It makes the ride less re-rideable and is just flat out an inconvenience
Oh, yea I kind of forgot about that whole process. Most of my rides on SV came in 2018 before they had any of that, but if I'd taken it into consideration Iron Gwazi woulda gotten another point for not having that.
@@kuruptsoul I wasn't referring to the removal of belongings. I agree with that. I was referring to the process...horrific, inefficient. Particularly the part where you have to move forward in a line, separate from a group, go in the opposite direction you came from, then go back in that direction again. Stand in another line to enter a metal detector. Great ride but that process earns that negative point 👑
