- Crochet look beanie on the Lk 150 knitting machine.

This is a tuck stitch hat but this time we will use the purl side as the public side of the beanie. This stitch is very easy to do but has a lot of crochet like texture. The hat can be adorned with a faux fur pompom, a matching yarn pompom or can be worn as is.

Anna, thank you for using Premier Basix DK yarn for creating these terrific hats!!!! You work on the Knitting Machine is AMAZING!!!!
Thanks! This yarn works great in my machine!
So much effort to share and show us how to do this, thank you so much ❤
Thank you. Very clear and concise instructions.
Thank you for watching! Let me know if you decide to make this hat!
Dank je wel Anna voor het delen van je videos...ik leer er een heleboel van...nogmaals bedankt.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks so much for your videos! I have been learning so much! Christmas gifts are going to made soon ☺
Yes! Knitted hats make great Christmas presents!
Thank you Anna for sharing this with us. Some of us are visual learners and written patterns add to our stress levels. ❤️🧶
Thank you so much ! The size is perfect, I love it !! 😍
That’s great! Thanks for watching!
Bless you beautiful heart ❤️ making a great video and in-convincing yourself to not get in the shot. Thank you for your lovely video 🥰
Thanks so much!
It's nice to see other people from the Facebook group using this pattern as well! Kudos.
I think you must have been the one who posted the punchcard with this pattern. I thought that it would be an easy pattern to hand manipulate on the LK 150. The first one I did was selecting every row like the punchcard. I decided that went too slow so I changed to selecting every other row.
There's a Facebook group?
@@AnnaHaferman I love it!
@@rebeccaj138 He was talking about one of the machine knitting groups on FB. I also started a group of my own; I see you joined!
What’s your fb group?
Thank you, Anna. I will make my Christmas gifts with this pattern.
That's great! Let me know how it goes!
Really nice looking hat. This encourages me to get out my LK150 and try it.
Thank you so much for this. I am a beginning machine knitter and was actually able to do this!!! Thank you
That’s great! It’s not hard to do, just a lot of steps to keep track of. Let me know if you have questions on any of my projects!
Qué hermoso quedó el gorro! Me encanta. Saludos desde Argentina!
Thank you so much!
Lovely video, wish there had been TH-cam when I owned a knitting ing machine, I only ever knitted basic sweaters. Loved learning about tuck stitch ❤
Thanks so much!
Very wonderful tutorial. Thank you ma'am
Thanks so much!
Beautiful hat. Thank you.
Thanks so much!
Thank you. I'll try testing it on a swatch to try to learn
Great! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this excellent tutorial I’ll. I found this type of knitting machine and now I am trying to learn all about i. Your video is very helpful.

@@AnnaHaferman I wanted to tag you in my photo on Instagram, but I could not find you there.
@@Anne-RuthK Thanks; I don’t really use Instagram that much but you can join my FB group if you like. It’s called Machine Knitting With Anna Haferman.
I was gifted 2 knitting machines recently and I've been watching every video I can find since they didn't come with the manuals. Thank you for explaining the settings on the carriage. No one mentions what the levers do! If you have any videos on the subject, I would love a link. I have the LK150 and a SK280. I haven't even used the SK yet.
I probably talk about it in several videos but this one may be helpful: th-cam.com/video/dAmp7iMw4R4/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! I made this hat yesterday and it came out pretty good. I certainly learned a lot. Had to pull out stitches a few times. I definitely understand my tension better. I'm obsessed with your videos and appreciate them so much. I purchased some minikins yarn and am going to try the dish cloths next. Your videos gave me the confidence to try more than a scarf!
There are videos on TH-cam which tell you how to use your machine and manuals on line are free. They are called operation manuals , knitmaster , empisal, silvereed are all the same machine .
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks again! When I first saw your comment it didn't show the donation, so I wanted to make sure to tell you how much I appreciate your support!
Hi Anna. I had a go making this hat and am pretty happy with the result👍 My yarn was thicker so I made a shorter hem. Also for the crown I used stocking stitch over the last 2 inches for less bulk. Found my seam was bulky though. First time using tuck stitch so great project thanks again.
Great! I'm glad you got it to work with thicker yarn. Let me know if you try it again with thinner yarn.
Yes the yarn is not very elastic. Seeing the seaming of tuck stitches very helpful.
Tried again with wool yarn. Came out great. This hat style is my favourite so far.
Thank you for this video. I love this hat. I made it today. Unfortunately it’s too big. I’m using a bulky machine though and worsted weight yarn. I tried to adjust for the differences, but got it wrong. Now I have a sample I can make the necessary adjustments. I’m future projects would you consider including the gauge?
I will try; thanks for watching!
¡Gracias!
Thank you so much Alicia!
Grazie, sai spiegare molto bene, grazie mille ❤️
Thanks for watching!
Ficou muito bonito 👏
Obrigada por ensinar 💐🇧🇷🙌
Thank you!
Thanks, Anna. It's beautiful. Will you bring your hats to the meeting on Saturday?
Sure!
Thanks very much for sharing, I am new knitter. Would you please please always mention the SIZE of the yard and Tension numbers for references would be very helpful to learn and get good at this fun hobby.
I showed the yarn and talked about the weight (size) of the yarn at the beginning of the video. I also have a link to it in the description. I mentioned the dial tension I used also. Thanks for watching!
You make me less afraid of my machine
Oh, don’t be afraid to use your machine!!!
Anna, JoAnn's sells Premier yarns in their stores.
Do they have the DK weight? The last time I was there they didn't.
They have it in the JoAnn stores I've been to. If they don'y you can order it online.

Thank you for this great video i have a empisal vistamatic 250 and my carriage is different from yours. Im still very new to MK and would love to give this a try. Will the tension be more or less the same
I think that is a standard gauge machine which means you will need thinner yarn and to use more needles for the hat. The tension would be whatever works for the yarn you choose.
Please can you advise how to pick up a dropped stitch when knitting this kind of tuck stitch?
It’s hard to describe but take off any weight, pinch the stitch and insert the tool into it and put back on the needle.
Can you use the Needle Beetle with this pattern?
No, because you have to put the held needles back to upper work and the Beetle selects based on the needles in upper work. So, you have to use the selectors.
The stitch has spread down the rows. I understand how to pick up stocking stitch. Is it the same for tick stitch?
Well, it's the same but you have to account for whether that particular stitch was tucked or not. Sometimes the stitch will have extra strands. This is not something I can really explain in a comment, unfortunately.
A quick question ma'am. I use a Brother KH-821. What Tension size do you advise that I use for this project?
I am using a 3 ply acrylic fingering yarn.
You could try casting on 146 needles. You would need more rows. If you have an 821 you could use a punch card for the patterning.
@@AnnaHaferman Thank you!

How would I make a kids size in this hat
This is a 4 stitch repeat so you would just have to decrease the number of stitches you cast on by a multiple of four and do less rows.
Hello~
Hi
I have a Brother KX-390 so what changes should I make to use the 9mm gauge? (number of stitches, tensions, etc.) Or will it work without makimg any changes?
You will probably want to use a thicker yarn, less stitches and tension would be dictated by which yarn you choose. I suggest making a swatch of the stitch pattern to see how the fabric knits.
Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. Do you have a link to the weights that the claw weights are hanging onto? I don't know what they are called, bar weights? Thanks
It's called a "cast on comb." Here is a link for one that will work with the LK 150. If you have a different brand/ gauge machine you will need to find one that fits that gauge. www.knitknackshop.com/shop/supplies-accessories-tools/silver-reed-accessories/99859-silver-reed-lk-150-cast-on-comb-5-piece-set/
@@AnnaHaferman ok thank you! I see in the video your using much shorter ones. I have the ones that came with my lk150
Oh, sorry. There is a link for those in the description of this video.
@@AnnaHaferman oh sorry to be a pain but I clicked all the links and those specific ones aren't linked.
I think I want to try this stitch as a skirt. What do you think?
Depending on the style of skirt, it could work. Do you have a pattern or will you design it?
Oh, let us know how it turns out!
@@AnnaHaferman would design it. Nothing fancy. Was thinking of taking the hat brim and use that as the waist. Then do the pattern and then maybe another hem like the waist at the bottom.
@@rebeccaj138 I think that would work.
In Australia where do you buy one of these knitting machines?
I am not sure. There is a link in the description to buy on one Amazon in the US; click on that and you will see the name and description of the machine.
Hi Anna 👋 long time since l was here, LK150 is my machine, the wool keeps getting caught in yarn on carriage, you said you were going to get rollers to replace brushes, did you change, and do they make a difference, thanks Anna look forward to hearing from you 😊
Yes, I replaced the brushes with rubber wheels and it works great!
thanks very much
is there a link for rubber wheels , thanks
It is twenty, not tweny❤
Are you correcting my pronunciation?!
@@AnnaHaferman yes, you say it several times in the video, although I have heard other Americans pronouncing it incorrectly, maybe that is how it is taught in your country, it just sounds wrong.
That is how it is pronounced here. People in different countries pronounce words differently. I'm sure there are things you say that would sound odd to me, but I would never comment on it. I'm not sure why you feel the need to comment on this, especially when you know that this is a common way to pronounce it in the US. th-cam.com/video/uUZuh7wUhOs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gAwwLsogDSefzBNK
