Best camera crew to ever exist in any orchestral setting
These uploads are superb not only because of the sound but also the thoughtful camera angles.
Its impressive how good the camera and especially the micing and mixing is. Even though its a TH-cam video, it has reference-grade audio. And all of this is from a public broadcasting company. Really underrated channel that deserves more recognition.
I love how cinematic this music is, and the use of so many different lesser known instruments!
He played this a few days before this recording in Bonn. At least there they actually played in front of an audience.
In case anyone wonders: The instruments he plays are all his own. He travels with two huge trucks.
Love this concerto 💜, I’m glad percussionists get to be on center stage and not on a tacet.

... der "wilde, vielbeschäftige" Grubinger mit einem hörenswerten Werk unterschiedlichster jazziger, aber auch folkloristischer Einflüsse: vom genialen Fazil Say ihm gleichsam auf den Leib geschneidert; professionell vom RSO FFM unter dem isländischen Gastdirigenten begleitet.

Wunderschöne und spannende Aufführung dieses modernen und ein bisschen exotisch komponierten Konzerts mit klar artikulierten Klänge der technisch perfekten Soloschlagzeuge sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der intelligente und geniale Dirigent leitet das hoch funktionelle Orchester im veränderlichen Tempo und mit perfekt kontrollierter Dynamik. Wundervoll und atemberaubend zugleich!

Die Satzbezeichnungen sind zwar richtig aber, die Zeitstempel sind falsch. Bei 8:03 beginnt bereits "Vibraphone-Campana".
