A million songs that stop when they say stop. Notes going up when they say high. Songs that say over and over and over. Whenever i sing the word whisper in a song i HAVE to overdub myself whispering the word
I was never any good at maths, which I still regret, and likewise all this talk about chords indicated with letters and then with numbers, and major and minor, and flat (whose flat?), it's beyond my understanding. But still, please continue and make lots more videos. Btw I love both In the Court of the Crimson King and Indiscipline.
I love both albums too! Red is my favourite though. Do you play an instrument? If so, the easiest way to learn the chord numbers etc. is alongside playing them. Ideally in C major to start
Ok, but did you know that sometimes when singers sing the word "stop" the music will stop? Now that's innovative. In all seriousness though, it's good to see some more interesting ideas of word painting, my favourite example of word painting is in Psycho Killer when David Byrne sings "say something once, why say it again?" before launching into the chorus for the second time.
Honestly, in all the years I've listened to Psycho Killer, I've not connected those dots 😂 it's a good one! And to be honest, I actually enjoy even the most clichéd examples of word painting, but I'm sick of hearing the given as the examples. Thanks for watching!
It's also simply called emphasis. We do it just about everytime we speak. Don't let these new bits of jargon throw you.
It is absolutely not the same thing as emphasis.
