- What is the best brushless RC car from FTX.
The new Zorro brushless is better then the brushed version and with some hop ups it has become one of our best cars.
The DR8 is the big daddy of the FTX collection and its 6S capability straight out of the box is hard to beat.
we have been racing the Vantage for a long time now and the brushless variants are amazing to watch around the track. these cars are very capable and probable the best performing of the bunch

Just bought a FTX Zorro brushless and just had my first outing with it, its amazing i took 2s and 3s but you know what i had so much fun with the 2s, only problem im having is the steering seems a little weak maybe i need to upgrade the servo not sure but damn its so much fun

Apparently the Zorro front bumper fits the Vantage perfectly. Could you try it out on a video perhaps? It'd be interesting to see if it's a worthwhile "upgrade" to do for when it's out bashing

I cut my flaps on all my cars out of thin plastic angle cut down to desired size, I either screw them to the A-arm if their are any screw holes already in the arm. If their are no screw holes I cable/zip tie them to the A-arm with 2 or 3 cable ties. Dead simple & cheap to do, one of the best mods you can do in my opinion.

Got my stadium truck up for sale and a brushless Vantage on order for this week. Also picked up some little garden marking flags to make tracks with. Don't think the wife realises what I've bought a load of new fluorescent washing line for

This looks like a really nice car (I just ‘discovered’ it), but it appears to be only available in UK - I failed to find it in EU so far.
That is a shame as it is a nice truck
Dude the cars aside, that grass track and using the lines to form it is a super cool idea! Love me some dirt action but grass is fun too! That has to be cheaper to build than dirt?
Super cheap to buy rolls of rope and then peg it in … keeps it simple and easy to modify track too
hello guys
i have a question for you i have the ftx zorro nitro engine version but i am so going off nitro engines to much messing around.
could i change it over to brushless 2 to 3s lipo if so what would i need apart from the obvious motor and esc combo but where could i get a motor mount from ????

Not sure about that one buddy as never seen the Nitro up close but I believe it is completely different so not a simple conversion

What's your go to buggy tyre for grass? I've tried the stock vantage tyres, tamiya square pin and the old oval blocks which work pretty good. Most of my race tyres are for dirt and are terrible so was thinking a carpet tyre might be a good option.

Still experimenting with tyre have not got a go to as yet …
On short grass the stock vantage pin tyres do ok. Once they start to wear and you lose the pins they go off quite quickly
@@PopalongRC thanks, I have found the vantage tyres work well too until there's a little moisture, which there's a lot of on the East Coast of oz lately. The old tamiya oval blocks were a surprise but it may be the lack of grunt from the silver can helping there.

Get yourself a Hobao Hyper 10sc. Super build quality and can spec your own decent 3s electrics. Superb value too 👌
It is defo on the radar but also like the look of the Kyosho
@@PopalongRC You won't look back after getting a 10sc. So well built and the drivetrain is super tough too. Run it 4s if you want haha!
I have been considering getting the Hyper SC10, but also really like the larger 1/8th Hyper SC8. I really like the build quality & performance of Hobao's, hence why I have a few Hobao's already.

Hi there, my FTX brushless zorro’s Esc just caught fire and exploded not sure for the reason worked fine for the passed month anyways does anyone know a good esc to replace it?

I have the Vantage Brother (VRX Spirit) and it eats spur und pinion gears. I even did the FTX 48dp spur conversion with steel 48dp pinion and it still eats them.
Don´t you guys have that problem?
We have worn a few stock ones but that is to be expected as we use them a lot … not damaged a steel one as yet though
We mainly run in grass and avoid small stones where possible
Was the spur gear steel too?
@@PopalongRC i do also drive in gras. The hardened aluminium pinion i tried first, was gone within 2 lipos. The second set now, with a steel pinion, is already damaged. Have to see how long it lasts.
How about the diffs? Did you have grease in them? Are they sealed to put oil in?
Glad yours has been good, mine died after its 2nd run out. I've got steering, the fan on the motor works, but the motor doesn't

Have you contacted the store you got it from … I have found that customer service at FTX and CML is fantastic
I also had an issue with the motor not running on my Zorro. I contacted the retailer and sent them the motor & ESC. They posted the motor and a replacement ESC back within a week.
FTX claim that the electrics are waterproof, but I do suspect it was water damage, so I no longer risk rinsing it off after a run.
@@PopalongRC I contacted them after the 1st issue I had, but they never actually replied to me. I might try FTX directly about this issue

First thing to do is lower the shocks to lower the centre of gravity ..
Slow down, take better racing lines, stiffen and lower the suspension, add sway bars
The zorro handles great, but it does spend alot , of time time on the repair table . I put it up against the team associated pro4 both on 2s , and the zorro was alot more planted and easy to control, the pro4 is alot more durable tho , just need some part to get it running again as usual lol great video thanks
Great to hear it can run level with the Associated pro4… I know it’s good but have not run it against them yet
The aluminium chassis is a lot more durable and we have not had any issues yet ….
I was only bashing them with my kids not a proper race but the zorro does handle alot better. The pro 4 is very loose , fish tsils alot i think its a common problem on them, they need thinker diff oil in the back and the stock tyres are rubbish still a good car tho . It seems to be the bell crank on the zorro that break the now and metal up grade is out of stock everywhere... keep up the great videos cheers mate
