I was going to say "thanks for giving me slight nightmare fuel before I go to sleep", bur the robot going "is this thing on" completely dispelled any sense of fear I had. Fantastic.
The thing I never got was why President Stone came back once the robot was destroyed and yet Toby didn't. I guess when he touched the Red Core, it bonded with him first so he was essentially the main body. It used the Peacekeeper to protect the main body of its conscious (i.e. Stone) by absorbing him. When Toby was in the picture, the Red Core imprinted on the robot first, destroying anything it absorbed because it's main body was the Peacekeeper. 0:31 I'm surprised nothing bad happened to his hand when he grab the Red Core, holding it and shove it into the robot. I kinda expect that the moment he touch it, his hand would immediately undergo a horrifying mutation.
0:29 This a good detail,Stone's Hand gets corrupted when he grabs the red core, and i think he doesn't feel a thing because of the hate, frustration and anger for failing on getting the blue core.
Peacekeeper: Red core loaded. President Stone: Are you to do as you're told? Are you ready to rock and roll? Peacekeeper: Sir. I told you to destroy the boy robot... *President Stone gets absorbed by the red core.* Stonekeeper: And bring back the blue core.
I honestly can’t tell if he noticed what happened. And after the Peacekeeper was destroyed, Stone definitely didn’t immediately realize that he was human again since he kept making noises and trying to shoot people with his now-nonexistent arm cannon.
Honestly I am in full belief that Dr. Tenma didn't even want Toby to begin with, human or robot, because let's be real, it was his lack of attention to his son that caused him to crawl into the presentation room and get vaporized, and on top of that, Dr. tenma wants to destroy the robot for the blue core. So, as of right now, I think he didn't even want a son in the first place, and only felt sympathetic because he, ya know, killed someone.
No, it’s the guys regret that he didn’t give his son the attention he needed. He did love his son. But with the robot, at first he didn’t see him as a son, but over time, he saw him not as his old son, but as a new son, so to speak. He even says at some point that “you may not be Toby, but you are my son.” There a good ending to this.
In the manga, Tenma becomes annoyed and frustrated that Astro doesn't act like his son and won't grow taller (which he really should've known considering Astro is well, a robot, even though he could just create a body for him that looks like an older version of his son but it's whatever) and abuses him by hitting him with a shovel and a broom, eventually selling him to Hameggs robot circus
Neglectful parents still love their child. He was right to say Toby’s death was his fault. Astro’s alienation was his fault too, as he didn’t recognize Astro as just as much his son as Toby
Kinda sad the peacekeeper is a robot made for being nice and bringing peace to all of humanity, sadly he was only given a power source that is nothing but pure evil and used by a guy who doesn’t care if innocents die

Astro boy was one android created to repalce his creater's dead son, but he went beyond replacing a dead boy. He picked helping people. Human or robot.
Stone: We're going to have to use the Peacekeeper to get the Core back. Dr. Tenma: You'll be guilty! And you're doing it for nothing! Using the Peacekeeper won't get back your Blue Core! Thumbs up if you get that reference. Hint: It's from a Nicolas Cage movie.
Notice how the politician cares more about the reporters and media, and refuses to listen to qualified scientists. This is to make the film “Astro Boy” as seem realistic as possible.
Why doesn’t President Stone notice that he became the robot? You could see that look of horror as he was sucked in, and then he just finished his sentence like nothing happened, and then proceeds to judge the people for running away.
President Stone: The negative always prevail, look at human history, look at me Scientist: my point exactly. Me 😢
Me :( I'm really gonna miss him tbh.
0:52 - Guard: "I saw more than enough movies, I know where this is going, I'm OUT"
0:53 ~ He make a right choice
Dude this was a kids movie but this scene is still so cool to me.
Astro boy was one android created to repalce his creater's dead son, but he went beyond replacing a dead boy.
He picked helping people. Human or robot.
The Peacekeeper was still following it's orders from President Stone even after absorbing him, though had the President's personality while doing so!
“It’s a robot it will do what I say”
Well, we now know who in the room has actually seen Terminator.
i had nightmares from this scene as a kid, i still get goosebumps tbh
Parents like: (0:40)
Stone: We're going to have to use the Peacekeeper to get the Core back.
Dr. Tenma: You'll be guilty! And you're doing it for nothing! Using the Peacekeeper won't get back your Blue Core!
Thumbs up if you get that reference. Hint: It's from a Nicolas Cage movie.
President Stone: food
Robot: me
0:56
I see you’re trying the see-food diet (you see food then you eat it)
President stone: You ready to do as you’re told”
You ready to rock and roll”
Peacekeeper: Sir
Is my favorite part
1:27
Love how president stone acted like he wasnt a giant robot
Notice how the politician cares more about the reporters and media, and refuses to listen to qualified scientists.
This is to make the film “Astro Boy” as seem realistic as possible.
This movie is so underrated
Man I remember how that part freaked me out as a kid...
I love this anime adaption
Look at the President Stone's hand 0:33 The Red Core has driven him over the edge.
A core with red energy can send you over the edge.
"I want them shot immediately"
Tenma : :)
R.I.P to the legend Donald Sutherland aka President Stone
This thing scarred me as a kid
Same
This thing is not so scary
@@efekaradagl1690 I watching this movie in theaters in 3D and I was both scared and traumatized and upset.
President Stone was literally controlling the robot
Why doesn’t President Stone notice that he became the robot? You could see that look of horror as he was sucked in, and then he just finished his sentence like nothing happened, and then proceeds to judge the people for running away.
1:30 THATS a proper reaction to a giant fucking machine, you shouldn't react like that to a mouse.
RIP donald sutherland.
As my father always says, "this will end badly"
me: stand out hold your fire
Is this thing on?
I like how he tried the red core and it failed in yet still does it anyway 😐
President Stone: The negative always prevail, look at human history, look at me
Scientist: my point exactly.
Me: True
And did you see how his hand reacted when he held the red core at 0:29 that is the reason the robot ate him, he was absorbing the red energy that was in stone’s hand by devouring him whole
Yeah President Stone's gone mad with power.
0:52 I would also run if a robot that supposed to do orders said to it is not doing orders said to it
1:32 what I say to my friends in online when there about to go offline
1:27 to 1:30 it’s like President stone in there going like: wait I still have 30 reporters waiting for me
Destroy the Boy Robot, and bring back the Blue Core!
RIP President Stone (2009-2024) A.K.A. Donald Sutherland (1935-2024) 🇨🇦😔🇨🇦
“The negative always prevails! Look at human history!”
Are you sure, man? Last time I checked, it wasn't the Axis Powers that one WW2.
