    Another video I found from you to help me repair something as a first time home owner with a builder who didn't care about building me a quality home! Thank you! Headed to Ace now to pick up my supplies and get this project started!
    My builder installed a ledge in our master shower and decided it would be the best idea to ensure the tile install allowed water to pool nicely, now the tile is cracked on the top of the ledge and water was certainly getting behind the tile. It's been a week since we used the shower so I hope it's all dried out, I think only 4 showers were taken since the large crack formed and my wife finally listened to me and stopped using the shower so it could dry out. Good luck me! hah

    I knew I would find something in your arxhives on how to do this! We jusy brought a house with a tile shower, so there's a few places that need a little help. One question: we have this sort of shelf thing for soap, also made of tile that is attached in the corner in the shower. There is a visible gap on ome side where the graut chipped or wasn't put in correctly. How so I fix that so it doesn't eventually fall off the wall?

    Hi, Leah, hope you are good! Leah, I am working on our shower floor tile, the grout is a little lower than the top of the tile, the grout is not flush with the face of the tile and I am scrapping the grout down a bit, in order to regrout it. My question to you is, how much of the grout do I need to remove? By the way, the tiles are spaced approximately, 1/8+" from each other. What do you think about epoxy grout for this and will it stick to the grout already in place?? Thank you, Luis

  • @czeidman8908
    @czeidman8908 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Leah- we have a sunken tube (that really we don't use, just step in to dust the window above it). It looks like the movement caused by standing in the tub is cracking the grout between the tub and the wall tile.
    the grout is crumbling and some falling out.
    Should it even be grout there? should it be caulk? Seems like caulk would be a bit more forgiving of any movement between the tub and the wall. Do I need to remove all that grout prior to addressing?
    Thanks so much.

    • @seejanedrill
      @seejanedrill  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you need to remove the grout, and you should use caulking because it is a movement joint.

    Hey Leah, what great timing you have! I have a couple of places in my shower stall. I don't have tile in it but part of it has what looks like a rubber seal with grout in it. Would that be handled in the same fashion or just done with caulk or grout? When I clean it part of the grout or whatever it is has come out like a string leaving that rubber looking thing. HELP!?!? Lol

    • @seejanedrill
      @seejanedrill  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Becky, it sounds like caulking. If so, you can remove it and re-caulk it.
