Most of my family and friends used to question why I was always SO particular when I was serving fish. Particular about every aspect. Resting time for the meat in a cool place, type of cuts, time from stove to plate all the things that you are demonstrating. So after many years, I get requests to prepare things. “We haven’t had a nice Xyz fish diner in a long time can you..” When I watch you prepare something, I really like that you’re helping people enjoy fish as much as Myself, family and friends enjoy fish! In the video you just showed I could tell by the way the knife was working that the FIRMNESS OF THE MEAT WAS 100%. Perfect !
Aaron you and your wife are a true inspiration. I am from Valdosta GA. I grew up in the Gulf a lot spearfishing. I live in ND working in the oilfield. We get to come dive 2 or 3 times a year. My ultimate dream in life is to do what you're doing commercial spearfishing and dive charters. You're are my true motivation to chase my dream. Thanks man.
Valdosta boy here too! Grew up fishing the gulf, carrabelle, keaton beach, PCB, destin etc and recently have dabbled in some spearfishing. Watching these videos and working on my 21 Cape Horn to get through these winter blues. Can’t wait for the summer chasing pelagics in the gulf!
Good job on the first wahoo on the gheeno. That was such a rare perfect day. Thank you for you and Madeleine letting us keep the paddle boards out that day and we were able to enjoy the same sunset. You guys are the best
I have watched this vid 3 times now,I totally enjoyed it every time!! Great job on the cook part of this ,you made it very easy and also look so understandable for those who don't cook fish much. Me on the other hand love both, fishing and cooking, and I also learned from this fantastic vid you did!!! Thankyou Aaron, awsome job!!!!
Wow! What a show… thanks so much. Thanks to your buddies for being out there too (piece of mind fosho)- Congrats to you and the Mrs! Looking forward to viewing your next show
Awesome video !! Just noticed the comments about people saying that someone wrong and they wasn't following you no more. So I made sure and double checked mine. All good.
This video is pretty awesome. Congrats on the wahoo in the G! So cool. Thanks as always for your videos. Your technique, safety practices and overall video cadence is very therapeutic and calming to watch. You guys are great.
My son and I do all of our offshore drift spearing from our J16. We keep the anchor line out as a visual for where the boat is, and the anchor on the bow and ready to drop when the chaos begins or we spot a good ledge or coral head to explore. Solid strat that has been our go to for the past couple years. In fact, we were out there on the same day as you guys, but in Marathon.
I absolutely LOVE your catch & cook videos oh my goodness 😩😍😍😍😍your cooking and the way you explain things is why I will NEVER unsubscribe 🥹thank you so much for all you do. (FYI I have to tell you this at least once a month lol I gotta keep ya going 🫡🤣🩷, HI MADALINE!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷)
I agree wahoo is really good!! We did it with mayo and salt pepper pureed garlic onion. Slathered it and wrapped in tinfoil and baked at 375 for 20-25 minutes. Moist juicy just like mahi mahi or halibut
I am really enjoying your videos with Madeline. Wish my wife would like spear fishing like she does. You guys are like the perfect couple and spearfishing buddies
When you said . Mad shot yhoo and floter started moving I got so happy I stood up and started klapping my hands for her . Pitty it tore out . Thanks guys great vids . Chris SA
Yes! I love your chill episodes and I love the exhilarating episodes ... great job .. always a blast to escape.. As a Jacksonvillian, I have been fortune enough to have been brought to the keys over the years .. I can smell it, taste it sometimes watching... ha ha.
Fishing years ago off Key West. Fishing guide did a great job. We had a nice Wahoo and tuna we brought back to the Hyatt to be prepared. I was really dissapointed with the Wahoo. After watching this video its obvious it was over cooked. Excited to give it another try. Glad I found this channel great job Thx.
I was so happy Madeline shot one until it pulled off 😢. We steak ours and throw them on the grill with butter and garlic. Always a hit at our fish parties. Loved the video!! ❤
Great Trip, The visibility must have been super early in the day. Your Lovely and Talented Child Bride will get another chance at the Wahoo. Love that boat, man.
Fun! Taking gheenoe offshore, you did it perfectly. With the key west super calm rare occasions I taken my 14 foot alumacraft with 20hp yamaha off shore to reef by sand key to fish so just gotta know what to do and send it when it's good! Makes it more exciting to know it's done in the skiff rather then a normal off shore boat.
Aaron, that was amazing to see you never disappoint with the beautiful underwater scenery to that beautiful shot of the sun at23:40. I am Glad that you are always on point with safety that of course is number one. Thank you for sharing it all with us..
Awesome video as always! Great job determining the weather for the trip. Great job getting a wahoo in the gheenoo! I've never seen a gheenoo out so far from shore. Yes I saw the other vessels and I was aware that you were being looked after by friends. Still out there in a freaking gheenoo and putting the smack down on the wahoo 👍👍. This takes some serious skills. Awesome job with the description of how to process the fish and the cook was perfect. I wish I had more hands to give more thumbs up on an epic adventure.
If that is the same pan that the food was sticking to the other day you can get a disc for your drill and get some round sanding discs that are progressively finer grit and smooth out the bottom. I have done this with new Lodge pans and once smooth re-season (burn some cheap bacon in it-outside) and it will start to turn black again after a few uses. The highly polished cast iron pans are really expensive. This way you get to non-stick quickly vs having to wait years for it to happen over time.
you know how to cook fish! it's the single reason that people have "bad experiences" with cooked fish...it's not cooked correctly... that looks delicious!
The first time I had Wahoo was in Kauai as fish and chips. It was so delicious! It is called Ono in the Pacific Islands. Due to the texture of raw fish, I cannot eat it. I have tried several times.
When you don't know what day it is, that means you have won life. Congratulations.
Aloha. I used to live that way on Lanai.

the clip of the buoy going by with the stuck fish is sick...so good!

Love me some wahoo. I had my first ever sashimi in Maui and it was ono or wahoo. It was fresh caught that morning and it was wonderful!
Aloha. Ono in Hawaii, would have been even better day 2-3.
What day is it.....LOL.....Now that's enjoying life where time doesn't have any meaning!!😎
haha
@@KeyWestWaterman 30 or 40 years from now you can always tell them I've had this problem all my life!!😎
you know how to cook fish! it's the single reason that people have "bad experiences" with cooked fish...it's not cooked correctly... that looks delicious!
Couldn’t agree more! Most people cook it to oblivion then claim they don’t like fish. Doesn’t take much!
Wahoo smoked fish dip yummm
Just found your channel. Too cool!
Glad you enjoy it!
How do people not like to eat wahoo? I went to Cape Verde recently and ate wahoo sashimi for lunch almost every day for a week. It's so good!
The first time I had Wahoo was in Kauai as fish and chips. It was so delicious! It is called Ono in the Pacific Islands. Due to the texture of raw fish, I cannot eat it. I have tried several times.
321 Putting in some work on that Gheenoe. Awesome, Wahooooooo spearing to you & your wifey. Congrats to your marriage. 😁
Outstanding, great vid! What oil do you usually use in your cast iron when you cook fish?
normally olive
thanks!@@KeyWestWaterman
that was great ,I tried it without success ,I spear a lot of Mahi and I love it ,would love to spear a wahoo sometime
