Just now figured out how Sebulba crashed. Anakin Skywalker's podracer control arm snagged on the hydraulic line for the right engine of Sebulba's podracer. When he broke loose, the arm put too much strain on the line, causing it to snap and causing the right engine to become unresponsive. Thus, when Sebulba pulled away, his left engine responded to his commands, but the right engine didn't. Thus, this explains why the left engine flew off first while the right one stayed on course, resulting in his signature crash landing. Serves that cheating mofo right! >:)
That makes perfect sense (no sarcasm). As a kid, I always wondered why his power couplings split then I just assumed that when Anakin accelerated he tore something off. It's still kinda weird how sebulba screams AND THEN his power couplings split or maybe he screamed as his power couplings were splitting but it was just showed in two different shots.
Cheating? Yes, but also murdering several people is probably the more concerning part, assuming they would not have done the same thing - Tatooine is a bit of a Wild West situation - very unregulated and practically lawless - except for the laws of the Huts.

The amount of work that must have gone into this part of the film is insane - working out the physics of how the racers move, the palette of sounds in the sound design, the CGI, the pacing of the editing... Just incredible work. Shame the rest of the movie didn't get the same treatment

First Sebulba bashes Mawhonic into a cliff wall. Then he fries Clegg Holdfast with a flamethrower. Then he tosses a piece of metal into Mars Guo's engine. But when he tried to take out Anakin, it all backfired and Sebulba was the one that crashed.
If you’ve played Star Wars Racer, you’d know Ben Quadrinaros had the best stats on his vehicle so Sebulba and Dud Bolt really screwed him and the bettors hoping he could win.
Well technically he won the bet if he could get it to move I believe and operate it he disabled the power coupling and all four engines went to town in the stadium tho I noticed something bizarre it looked like it had 4 accelerators on the cockpit similar to gasganos pod and gasgano has four arms
I think for the re-release around the time episode 3 came out on DVD they went back and re-did a whole bunch of scenes from ep 1 and 2 a lot of those scenes were extensions of the Podrace that were never finished. Hence why half the racers in the starting intros are full cgi and the others aren’t. That scene actually quite funny because when you watch the “full” race it shows anakin passing the guy who got flamed about 10 seconds later.
Ratts was the only one to actually died. Clegg survived but was badly injured, as Kevin said. Mawhonic, Mars Guo (blargh guy at 1:12) and Teemto Pagalies (the one who was shot at by Tuskens) all survived.

@mikegalbraith9999 personally, I didn't like the fact that it felt almost nothing like its predecessor. For one, the sense of crazy speed you get from the first one is almost absent in Revenge. Also, I hated the fact that if your engines blew up, the race ends instead of just respwaning. My copy also didn't have music playing during the races until the 3rd lap for some reason. I will say that the character selection was nice, being able to play as Teen Annakin, kid Annakin, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul in the same game.
Judging by Ody Mandrell's reaction at 1:01, I'm guessing his left engine was ruined after that pit droids got sucked in the front and blasted out of the exhaust port.

Judging by Ody Mandrell's reaction at 1:01, I'm guessing his left engine was ruined after that pit droids got sucked in the front and blasted out of the exhaust port.
I forgot just how many cartoony sound effects there were in the podracing scenes.
