OMG!! I have been struggling to give my dog a syringe on meds. He's 90lbs and hates the meds so it's usually a fight. Just watched a clip of this video and he took it no problem! Added a little PB to the tip of the syringe and he's looking for more.
My dog is a 17yr old applehead chihuahau I cannot give him medication unless it's topical. If he smells it in his food he'llstarve my best solution is starving him 4 3 days & adding grounded medication 2 sizzling bacon. Any suggestions. He sharp teeth & bites if U touch his mouth. Syringes also work
I have a 6 year old 150 lb German Rottweiler.. and my vet gave me liquid vitamins.. wow 😳 what a fight spraying that in her mouth.. but I like your idea of putting it in her puch with a syringe.. thank you great video.. and why would they make liquid vitamins..??
My dog fights so violently that none of these methods are working. Any advice for the type that are not this docile and aren't food or snack motivated? I have a pill crusher and put the meds for trachea collapse inside. A syringe with water.. But i can't restrain him by the neck at all. I don't want to injure him but he needs to have these meds 2 times per day. This pup is the total opposite of what im experiencing, and i don't want to further stress him . his neck was injured at his grooming session. Are there any other techniques for the more difficult pups
I've watched several videos on this subject. They're all moot, because the dogs are cooperative. I have a terrier who has no appetite, and tries to twist, back away, close his mouth, and generally fight against oral meds or a syringe. I'm not wasting any more time on youtube videos for this.
I’ve bought wild caught sardines in water and I pour a little of the sardine water mixed with the meds in a ramekin with a little bit of sardine. He licks it right up. My holistic vet suggested wild caught sardines in water for a healthy treat. Must be wild caught though as the farm raised kind tend to have mercury in it. You can also try dog bone broth or coconut oil mixed with liquid meds.
I'm here because I just fought a 7lb chihuahua with a liquid med that doesn't taste good and ended up wearing most of it.
My Chihuahua is 5 pounds and I felt like he turned into a demon.

Any tips on sublingual meds for dogs? I read something about the skin on the underside of the ear being an alternative for sublingual. Is this true

I'm having this similar problem but mines has a hot spot under neck so I cant hold him there

Putting the pill in a dollop of peanut butter works for my poodle...she hates taking medicine but loves peanut butter & she eats it right up!
