    Good idea, I will be incorporating this.

    I loved this EDC dump. It is nice to see your gear because it gives me some great ideas and that there are some good functional and economical choices out there. I absolutely love the boot knife and the paracord around the boot, I never would have thought of that. It is also just so cool seeing the connections you have with the community and how some of your gear has sentimental value. Thanks for making this!

    Nice review! That Haversack reminds me of the old Boy Scout Haversacks made of canvas. Also, way to think outside the box with the paracord on the boots! That seems like a totally original idea!

    Wool/ felt is generally better than cotton. Cotton tends to soak up sweat/ liquids and get stiff and rough, while wool remains smooth and dries much better.

    Great vid, bro! Damn, I have got to get a JX3 knife. I meant to get one after your squirrel video, but the Patriot was calling my name... and the 550 cord around your boot is genius in an off grid scenario. Nothing “Dorky” about survival 👍

    Thanks James for letting us see your equipment! Just wanted to let you know I have the same problem with my boots they get really dry from the powdered sand, I use saddle soap with a little water and it really gives it life again! I’m a big Bobafett fan and your Haversack reminded me of him.
    Take care Brother!

    Nice kit. Here in the Southeastern Ohio I like a nice pair of waterproof hiking boots or even hunting boots for winter camping with wool socks. I have a pair of Asolo Fugitive GTX’s that have been reliable for several years that are my go to winter camp as long as it’s not too cold out then I’ll switch to Rocky insulated hunting boots.

    The cordage on your boot isn't a bad idea but I think I'd just wrap the cord in a loop and hang it from your boot pulls with a carabiner, as it'll be quick and easy to remove compared to unraveling it from the boot pulls

    I use the thrunite T1 it’s half the size 100 lumens usb rechargeable with a magnetic base and a clip that can clip to a pocket but u can clip it to your hat for when u need 2 hands in the dark and it’s a great size for that and it only cost $40. I also use the same patherfinder bottle and nesting cup loved it so much I just got a bottle hanger and the 120oz steel bush pot that is very light for steel and fits two titanium toothpick Kate’s one titanium bowl a titanium fork and spool stuff to clean the pot and a titanium cup all in one pot works great and weighs much less that just about any quality cooking kit but with all the titanium your probably talking a $200 price tag for everything

    P.s. For me I would make my boot knife excesable for both right an left hand, maybe on the inside of the boot, just a suggestion in case your other knives aren't handy an your right arm is hurt. My 2 cents.

    I was wondering if that brown coat you're wearing is water proof. I probably would need one like that although it would have to be waterproof as I was given a non waterproof coat as a gift when I finished up working for a company. I very recently travelled to Tasmania, a state I had never been to before and was there for a week and was blown away by the pristine nature and I didn't even get to see the SW of the island which is pretty wild and uninhabited. I actually thought immediately of you and reckon you would love the place. Bushman skills and experience that you have I think you would be at home in Tasmania. If you ever travel outside the US and want some pristine wilderness with wildlife, particularly wallabies, Tasmanian devils and possums, (roadkill) as well as good fishing then this is the place. I went there to check a small hazelnut orchard, if there had been a house on the land, I would probably be negotiating to sell my house in Western Australia and moving to that property. Hobart is a small city, just how I like them and right on the water. The climate is cooler in Tasmania compared to mainland Australia, but overall I was very impressed, probably the unspoilt conditions impressed the most.

    • @JunkyardFox
      @JunkyardFox  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh man, it would be a dream come true to travel to tasmania

    • @johnmanera4097
      @johnmanera4097 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JunkyardFox as I said, I went there to check a property with a small hazelnut orchard but did mention to the real estate agent that I was preferencing a property with a house on it otherwise I would have all the hassle of building a house. Anyway I may be returning there to view this property more. There was one property with a house on it but it sold about 2 weeks before I saw it listed on a real estate website. If I do get back there and find a property to buy, you would be welcome to visit if you got to Aussie or Tasmania. There is so much to see which I didn't get a chance, but intend to within the next 18 months. I'm a bit pissed off I didn't get to even see platypus which are in the Tasmanian rivers. Platypus are only in Tasmanian rivers and maybe rivers in Victoria, not sure if they are in rivers of New South Wales.
