I traded for a garbing on one of the forums a while back. Ive only taken it camping once, but I really like it. Its my favorite mora to use out in the woods. Its always wet around here, so I appreciate that its stainless. A stainless companion is one of my fishing knives, and it is covered in rust, but that is from salt water and neglect. I appreciate the time stainless buys me sometimes. I really like Mora's simple Sheaths too. They aren't bulky and work well.
Thanks for the video, I subbed the other day and have been binge watching your vids.

Hi James. I never post comments, but decided to chime in on this video. I actually have a garberg and just wanted to say that I agree with everything you mentioned. I've been waiting on this review to decide between the bushcraft black or this and I'm glad I picked the garberg. I will be subscribing to your channel and I appreciate you taking the time to do these videos buddy. Good job and keep up the good work. Merry Christmas.

I found your channel a while back, never commented before simply because someone has always seemed to voice my thoughts in the comments before I could, and usually more eloquently than I could do myself. My first video was on the bushcraft black Mora that I eventually went on to purchase thanks to yourself and other reviewers. Interesting fact I actually live in the sister town of Mora Sweden which is Mora Mn. My favorite thing about that video though was the fact that you actually process game on video instead of lots of other reviewers that just say "it can do it just fine." You actually put in the time and effort to showcase that fact and that helped me make my decision to buy the Bushcraft Black. Merry Christmas and all the best.

Thanks for the review. One of the reasons I like your videos is that they are done in desert settings. I live in Southern California, so your info is useful to my environments, especially the Mojave. I especially like the survival scenario series, because it shows more of your artistic side. As for my favorite Cuervo Negro track, I really like the “classical” sound of El Final del Vals. Good stuff. And happy holidays!

"For the Desert" is a beautiful tune. Being a desert fox myself, this song really speaks to me. Love the game processing vids. I haven't had the chance to do it myself yet, but when I do I know I'll be prepared.

WOW! This is so generous of you, thank you! I subbed, and since I am new here I haven't seen any of your other videos yet. (I plan to through) So, this is my favorite video, and I like "Dust and Bone". Thank you again, I would most certainly do a through review. Thank you again, Jep.

I can say my favorite video was the first one I saw, where you where over on the west side of our town processing a catfish. I can say I was hooked...lol. You have come a long way since then and you really have expanded your knowledge. It's been awesome to see you then and now. Great job and keep the videos coming.

I love the wolf and the crow and of course dark trees! I really enjoy your desert survival s catch and cooks, I find it fascinating and love the details you use when showing us how to! Been a viewer for last yr+ and I'm so glad I found you! You've become a part of my daily routine! Thanks a million! Anything Morakniv I'm a big fan of! Love the kydex!! $90 is a bit much, more than I can afford at the moment.

My favorite video you did had the traps made out of 2 liter bottles and you caught craw dads. That or how to harvest cattails by the river. My favorite music is the intro honestly. It reminds me of the game Red Dead Redemption. Cool videos!

The music from those 3 videos are also my favorite, it shows how much your channel has grown and what it's becoming! I don't only see your videos as some guy trying to teach survival skills, but someone that's put he's artistry out there as well!

    Merry Christmas James!
My favorite video is “The Origins of Junkyard Fox”. I like the part of butchering the rabbit, realizing where food comes from and hearing the sounds of coyotes and owls.
My favorite Cuervo Negro composition is “It’s been a long time”. I like the old delta blues sound of it.

Well, I’ll start off by saying that I really like all of your uploads/videos.... the one that really jumped out to me was “The Origins of Junkyard Fox” the “when did I know” video. That one specifically stands out because I know there is a lot of meaning/heart behind that specific video.... And one of my favorite tracks by Cuervo Negro would have to be Prelude, love the guitar and whistling in that instrumental/song! Keep up the great work! Looking forward to many more.

I appreciate your videos it is one of 2 channels my boy can watch without me previewing the video.
I can not speak to my favorite music track. They all make me want to watch old westerns though.
And my favorite video to date is when you actually test the emergency 24hr kit. The same video has the hilarious intro with the toy truck wrecking and catching on fire.
Again I really appreciate the quality content you produce.

I have to say, I think "From Houston to El Paso" is the perfect track to pair with your cooking videos. It's so mellow and relaxing with that harmonica, you could just kick back and watch the sunset with it on the background. As for videos, I think the JX4 review where you caught and cooked a catfish was my favorite. There's something about fresh-caught fish that can't be replicated at a restaurant or market. It's that or the elk quesadilla video when you went on a trip. That thing looked amazing!

Merry Christmas! I think my favorite videos are your catch and cook videos which first sucked me in as your fan. For the sake of the contest I will pick the catfish catch and cook video because it was probably the first one I viewed way back. The music is and videography is superb and again I will pick "just in time" as my favorite tune but I could listen to that guitar all day. Thanks for all your great efforts and keep it up!

Hi James. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! My favourite video or videos should I say are the EDC updates. I'm very passionate about my own EDC and seeing others and how they choose their gear, really inspires me. As for the music, I'll be honest with you, it's not really my style and don't have a favourite one, but they go together well with the style of videos you have. I'll see you on your next video, Respect!

Merry Christmas Junkyard Fox. Thanks for another great video. I honestly got into bushcraft from your videos. I live in LA so our environment is similar. There’s not a lot of people doing desert bushcraft survival/skills.
My favorite video is a short video you did on how to make char cloth. It was such an entertaining video and I actually made char cloth with my friends when we went camping a couple of months back.
Favorite Cuervo Negro song is By far The Prelude.
Again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the whole Junkyard Fox crew.

    @brokentoyland 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Picking a favorite Junkyard Fox video is going to be hard! As is picking a favorite Cuervo Negro track. I love all of it lol. But I really do enjoy the foraging for food videos, watching you process things, like the yucca pods. Also showing how to use cactus. Both prickly pear and ocotillo. The ocotillo tea was great. I love all the visuals and artsy shots, when there's no talking. Just music and visuals of whatever you're doing and nature. So cool.
Now, for Cuervo Negro... I love The Wolf And The Crow I. Vaqueros I, is awesome. I can't pick just one lol. El Cuervo Y La Golondrina, is beautiful. I could have something to say about each song. They're all so good.
I would love this knife. Been wanting something like this for years, but not possible so far.
Thank you, James, for putting out such cool vids. And Merry Christmas to you, too!

Hey James , absolutely love the desert food series as it's so different to my climate in the UK . I think this is what makes you Stand out as a channel as well as actually owning your review items for more than a couple of days like most outdoor channels. The best one in the series is probably the kreyfish as I've never actually seen how to prepare one . My favorite track is definitely from Houston to El paso , it reminds me of piano man for some reason and is great to relax to while doing uni work ( was doing that the other day) definitely keep going with your SoundCloud. Hi James...I came across your channel a while back when I was researching a new haversack. Saw your Hidden Woodsmen Haversack video that you did last Winter. I guess that's my favorite video because I bought one and I love it.
Favorite Curevo Negro song: "Just like Old Times". (also on that same video) Just listened to it again this morning!
I need to purchase another Garberg (long story). I like the pommel on a Garberg in particular because I often will tap on the back end with a small baton to (gently) pry out pine resin nuggets for various projects.

My favorite videos are always the one where you process food, as it is a skill about which I need more knowledge. So each one vecomes my new favorite. The last on I watched was on November 18, the Pack Rat. Merry Christmas.

I like the video when you first started out about how to survive in the city .. You made a shelter against a building using card board .. Another was you in the desert caring a shoulder bag and you were in the middle of a dirt road making a fire .. And another one was showing us how to set traps with big mouse traps in the sand dunes or small hills .. Thanks for the years and videos you have put out .. Being from Texas Too not very many people put out info on surviving around Texas ..I all ways share your videos out and in groups ..Thanks brother and Merry Christmas ..

I actually have enjoyed all your videos. I love the “team” vids with you and your girl. I live in Florida so the environment is definitely more swamp and less desert. Thank you for what you share and teach. Best of luck in all you do in the future.

Thanks for the videos! I think my favorite is the one when you went over cacti fruit. I don't remember the name of it, but it finished out with making ocotillo tea, which I have since tried. I think my favorite Cuervo Negro track is For the Desert. That one resonated with me. Keep it up! I'm looking forward to the next upload.

Feliz Navidad. My favorite video???? Well to be honest I’ve enjoyed your series on desert foods. The prickly pear, madrone berries etc. seeing your videos reminds me of being with my grandparents in Ft. Stockton. I like the desert videos because so many ppl look at the desert as being desolate and barren of life but it’s not if you know where to look. As for Cuervo Negro. I like From Houston to El Paso and Just like old times. From Houston to El Paso reminds me of a song /scale my father tried to teach me when I was attempting to learn the guitar. Anyways thanks for your videos, looking forward to the future of your channel. Good luck to everyone.

My favorite vid was probably the one where you processed the pack rat. Never thought about actually eating a rat but after watching your vid I went out and tried it myself. Yeah not my cup of tea, but want to thank you for helping me come out of my shell. My favorite song is Just like Old Times, great vid and keep up the good work!!!

One of my favorite JYF videos was a very early one where you explored an abandoned tenement for survival gear and I really can't pick a favorite Q-Negro song because they're ALL So Awesome!
Other than that, I'm In! LoL
Thanks for Doing What You Guys Do!

I'm new to your Channel And have only got to view about a dozen videos. I have to say the first one that I watched was the one where you caught 5 Crayfish and cooked them right there. I love this video so far and really had trouble chosen the best one. They all so far have been entertaining, Very good presented, And fun to learn from other people like yourself. Thanks
