  • Garment factories are tainted with unmotivated workers, going about their work mechanically everyday. A lack of purpose and belonging affects both businesses and workers’ lives. There are ways to change it.
Rosey Hurst is the founder and director of Impactt. She has 17 years' experience in ethical trade and labour standards and has been working in China since 2001. Impactt works with brands, retailers, producers and manufactures in international supply chains to improve working conditions in supply chains in a way that brings clear business benefits to both ends of the chain. Hurst has led many innovations in ethical trade, founding Sedex and the Local Resources Network, pioneering the use of participatory techniques in China and leading the Benefits for Business and Workers Programme which delivers better quality jobs and more productive and engaged workers in China, India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Thank you so much Maam, for your wonderful work!
It's just awesome to see your usage of those social psychology examples....it vividly resonated with everything you spoke about. I really do hope and pray that we can use these basic factors that you mentioned in every aspect of our lives and it will only make our beautiful country an even better one in shaa Allah!

using the word exploit instead of utilize put me off because of the historical context of such a word but other than that, a great Ted Talk of the realities of industry creating a better environment for people despite the challenges. Great humanistic perspective.
