- Ep#22 of The Daniel Blair Show - Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan met expectations going 1-1 on the day respectively. Hunter Lawerence and Chase Sexton gave Jett a little honesty in the 450 class but not enough. The 250 class saw Tom Vialle and Levi Kitchen struggle to bring anything to the table when it came to Danger Boy Deegan.
Round 1 of the 2024 Pro Motocross series is in the books and now it's on to Round 2 at Hangtown where the pros will line up again and see if anyone can stop these guys.

I mean, Vialle was down in Detroit too and he DID win the SX title. He manages to be humble.
I know right. Ppl act like only deegan was effected by that crash. Tom had the worst of that crash.
Haiden is doing well but 6 championship short of a worthy comparison with Jett

Well, it won't happen as long as Ricky is commentating. We've seen less of James in supercross because of RC (in my opinion), james was supposed to do half of the supercross rounds but we didn't get that, and the ones he did do RC was there too. Besides, i don't think DB wants to come back to TV anyway, atleast not right now. He did it for Arenacross for several years and then Supercross for a lot of years before getting in the booth... he's got a lot of things on his plate as it is with amateur motocross team, running his taxi service, his youtube channel, along with multiple other things and still trying to find time to be a family man inbetween. There just isn't enough time to do all that and then also travel to every round of the nationals or supercross to do broadcasting... I just hope we get James at all or the majority if the outdoor rounds this season along side Weege. They're a great pair in my opinion, the only that'd make it better would be of DB or Langston was in there with them.

I love how Daniel covers all scenarios , so he can come back on the weekend and say, see I told you so lol , Jett hasn’t lost there since 2021, well went 3-1 for the overall win in 2022 on the 250 and 1-1 last year, but you say he is vulnerable on this track, I guess we shall see, apart from not being comfortable on the bike, he was pretty sick with the flu.

I'm no moto expert, but Jett is an absolute freak of nature, so does Deegan have chance against him in the future? Who knows, what I absolutely do know for a fact is that if they both remain healthy, Deegan will absolutely throw everything at it trying to beat Jett. No one wants to win more than Haiden, so love him or hate him, it's a lot of fun watching him race and that is something we can all agree on.
That's not true in the least bit. Chase Sexton has lost 24 straight motos to Jett and is still throwing everything and the kitchen sink at him.
Let's see Deegan get dominated like that and still have any will to fight. My money says he roles over.
2015 season start was pretty crazy how much faster TOMAC was than anyone
shame again the field is very thin with a lot of guys out injured. but these three podium guys should give the 250 class the support it now needs.
How long will Deegan stay in the 250s? Will he win the east and go to the west and win? Can Deegan beat Jett, when Deegan moves up to 450s Jett will be in the prime of his career. Tom Viale did good in SX and after the drama last week I think they lit a fire under Viale.
How is ClubMX a privateer? Don’t they get a paycheck… and travel… and bikes… and mechanics… and free training?

I'm a NorCal guy. Hangtown sucks, but it's better when they add sand. It all eventually pushes to the side and you're riding through sand ruts on hard pack, but it's still better

Yeah it's a complete joke. Danger kid isn't anywhere near what Jett was like at his age. And his riding style won't translate to the 450 at all.
Trajectory. Jett didn't win any championships his first year, same as Haiden. Didn't win sx but did win 250 mx second year with a 1-1 at pala, similar path Haiden is on. So, yes, comparison can be made.

this reminds me of RC and Bubba, RC dominating the 250 until james stepped up and both were the top guys, The styles are similar, Jett being more like carmichael and haiden more like Bubba.

I’m a Gen Z Kid, but I grew up with Millennial Older Brothers and I always root for the Vets or the guys I grew up watching.
Man it’s gonna be So tough when they leave, I heard many people left the Sport when RC and Stew left the field. However and I’m sure there’s many of that have a rider that we would just watch and for me, it HAS to be Deegan!
It would be Worthwhile watching the 450s if Jett can win on EVERY Bike Manufacturer if he’s this “good” (Considering the field Somewhat Dead compared to last year)
How is the field dead? Jett is going up against a bunch of guys with at least a 250 title. The fact he's just better than everyone doesn't diminish what he's doing.

Well, Jett seems to be going slower, not faster, so maybe not. Even Sexton almost caught him, will have to wait and see if he can get his bike to 100%, maybe then he will be faster again

Vialle will improve as the season goes on and will win races. Jo Shimoda is the wildcard and is faster than all of them when he's comfortable.

Prime Tomac is a force of nature. Chase on the Honda in 22 couldn't beat him and that was a better bike than the KTM

The family is WAY TOO strong & tight. Never happen as they see the wins as a family win, not individual & they have stated this many times.
@brooksy2093 you can tell in the interviews Hunter gets a little tired of Jett this and that. But who knows, we're not on the inside of that group.
This has been discussed between Hunter and Jett. They both said this dirtbike stuff is temporary and their brotherhood is way more important. So I highly doubt any major drama will occur during their careers. Small stuff maybe but nothing major. Family first with the Lawrence family.

Jett was fighting the bike and there's word he was also dealing with an illness at this last race. If that's what a sick Jett on a less than ideal bike looks like, everyone is screwed.

Its like oh well Jetts and Hunters setup wasnt good. Jett didnt get the off week to do testing with his rib injury…It’s chase’s first outdoor on a ktm (clearly had some rear end issues too)
They all come up with open ended problems to save face. At the end of the day. They’re all doing the same races on teams and bikes they chose to be on. A win is a win.

@Iamwhostine I've heard he was actually quite sick all day and he was really uncomfortable on the bike.
I'm not sure he was necessarily less prepared but he will get it figured out sooner. Chase has shown he is not a good test rider and he takes a long time to figure out the bike. Jett will likely have his bike mostly sorted by the next round with the program they run.
Just going off of what I have seen from both of them and how they deal with issues. Jett and his team seem to always know which direction to go when they have a setup issue (think the opening round of the "playoffs" vs round 2) and Chase seems to struggle with figuring out what direction to head.

They added sand to Hangtown? That place has been a 💩hole for a couple of years. Last year was a bad joke. Son has raced and ridden there since 1995 and he wont ride Hangtown like it is now. It's been more like the clay and blue groove track it was in c. 1996. Dirt Diggers don't understand track prep

To this point what has Deegan done? Nothing compared to Jett at the same point in his career.
They literally have almost mirrored careers at this point. Go look at the results it’s pretty scary how similar it is. Haiden has far more podiums though

In Jett’s first year in SX his average finish position was 2.87 and was on the box 62% where as Deegan had an average finish of 5.0 with 30% on the box, in year 2 Jett had an average finish position of 1.75 & was on the box 100% of all races he finished where as Deegan had average finish of 4.89 and boxed 56% (both are SX ONLY)
Nearly everything you just said is false. In Jetta first year he had an average finish of 7th with 1 podium( deegan had 3 podiums) in his second year he had an average finish of 2.875 (not including his dns in Indy) with 5 podiums 3 wins (same as Deegan btw). Idk where you got your stats from😂😂. And don’t leave out motocross because Deegan is way ahead so far in that category. I’m not even saying for sure Deegan is better but come with some facts first man
