Autobahn - Without Synths (Kraftwerk Cover)

- Featuring me playing guitar, bass, uke, drums, tambourine and, er, car door.
Lots of delay used on the guitar, bass and uke, just using the built-in effects in my sequencer software, Ableton Live Lite. Used a bit of wah-wah on the guitar to try and emulate that nice warm synth sound on the original.
Original tune is on the 1974 album of the same name, published by Phonogram GmbH., Hamburg.

I'm a Kraftwerk fan and I say it's quite good! The guitar effect sounds really nice. But there could have been a few more options, for example singing and the short melodies in the second half (it was originally with guitar!), slide effects with a second guitar. But, don't digital drums use synthesized sounds..? ;)

Well there wasn't much in the way of synths on the original.... but you should have broken the rule to do the "meeeeeoooowwwmmmm" bits ;)

What do you mean by 'synths'?
KW was all about sounds by electronics, or at least heavily manipulated by electronics (i.e. vocoder). In the beginning their devices and synthesizers were analog.
Later on synthesizers became more affordable, mass-produced, with digital electronics, by which synth-pop arose.
Allthough this cover is nicely done, essentialy it is the complete opposite of Kraftwerk's philosophy. They wanted no strings - like guitars, violins and piano's- and no acoustical instruments in general - like drums or brass (which they considered as rooted in mediaevil music), but radical, new, synthetic sounds created through electronic technology.
I think this cover would sound good in Banda music
