Home music recordings from a London based multi-instrumentalist.
Started the project in Spring 2020 when a lot of us had extra time to play with thanks to lockdown. Decided it was time to make some sonic sourdough. Banana bread for the ears.

Longpod - Dreamy
Uploading one of my own compositions for the first time. Guitars, bass and drums all played by me. Sequenced and mixed using Ableton Live.
Also recorded a time-lapse video cycling from where I live in West London, down the Grand Union Canal and ending up on the Thames. This was taken in March 2021 when the UK was still in lockdown but the sun was out and a lot of people were out for a walk. Nearly mowed down a toddler but no-one was harmed in the making of this video :)

Featuring me playing guitar, bass, uke, drums, tambourine and, er, car door. Lots of delay used on the guitar, bass and uke, just using the built-in effects in my sequencer software, Ableton Live Lite. Love this tune - it comes from Money Mark's Keyboard Repair which is one of the albums that inspired me to start recording. That album has a lovely DIY vibe about it and sounds like it's been recorded on cassette - shows that you don't need expensive recording gear to make a great record. My 2nd video recorded at home during lockdown. My last recording was guitar based but I wanted to experiment with midi sequencing and drum patterns using my keyboard. What better way to do this but with classing banger Blue Monday! Keen to put my own twist on it, I included ukulele and stylophone parts. Feedback welcome!

Recorded at home during lockdown, I was missing jamming with my buddies so I decided to jam with myself! Started with drums, rhythm guitar and bass and then, because I'm not much of a singer, I created an instrumental lead part also on guitar. My first go at putting together a split screen video. I'm a Kraftwerk fan and I say it's quite good! The guitar effect sounds really nice. But there could have been a few more options, for example singing and the short melodies in the second half (it was originally with guitar!), slide effects with a second guitar. But, don't digital drums use synthesized sounds..? ;)
