Nice rake of Cargowaggons with the Class 47, I also got that particular one, for the price they are a really good loco, I am going to add lights to mine which apparently quite straight forward. ...Drew
Thanks Drew. The Cargowaggons are nice to look at. They do look good and as for the '47, i saw it on sale here in New Zealand. I paid 170 NZD, (about 75 GBP) really pleased with it. It is a little on the light side, but pulls well around Shelvington. When I took it out of the packaging, I thought the lights were going to work, sadly not. But like you say adding lights would be a good idea. Cheers, Andy
That rake of Cargowagons looks superb with the Class 47. I had a similar problem to the one you had with some of those wagons with a track cleaning wagon I bought a while back - the wheels were just slightly out of position on the axles, enough to make them hardly turn. Glad you fixed it and thanks for sharing 👍🚂
Thanks mate. I wasnt sure how they would look. I saw them online, on special over Christmas, I wasnt going to buy them, but they were a good price so I felt like I had to!! Being in New Zealand, I have never seen them in real life, let alone in model form so I wasnt sure how they would 'look' , but watching them go around the layout, I am pleased! I was very worried when the wheels didnt move freely, but all sorted now. :) Cheers, Andy
@Shelvington_Railway That's good to hear. Whilst I think of it, I believe your Class 47 will be very similar to my "City of Truro" from a couple of years back (the same Hornby Railroad, minus the sound, in Colas Rail livery) ... if that's the case, it really benefitted from a tiny bit of extra weight inside the shell above both bogies. Just in case useful. All the best from Pringleton 👍🚂
Yes, you are right. This loco is incredibly light! Luckily my layout is all on one level. If there was even a slight hint at a gradient, I am sure this loco would struggle pulling anything up it! Shelvington V3 is currently being discussed and draw up, so it may be a different story then . ;)
