    What a beautiful Impala! The small town (2k people) where I grew up in Kansas had TWO ‘69 Caprice coupes with 427s. Both owned by elderly women. I haven’t seen one since!

    That Impala was a treat to see. An older kid in my neighborhood had the exact car - and probably a Janesville as it is 60 miles from here (different color though- green or turquoise ) when I was growing up. His best friend, our next door neighbor had a Hemi GTX. They were both ‘nam vets fresh out of the service. You can imagine those grudge races..
    My one memory of the hemi was the owner putting a parallel second battery in it so it would start in the cold Wisconsin winter. He eventually bought a ‘60 Chevy for the winter

    Back in the late 70's I bought a blue 67 Impala 2dr. with bench seat and automatic on the column! It was a really good car! Wow seeing this SS427 is so cool! Back in 75 or so a local Guy had the twin SS427 to this Impala also in red! One night he was driving back from the tavern all boozed up & hit a telephone pole. The car was totaled! I was just a teenager but I was so pissed at this idiot for killing what to me was the coolest car in the world. After he got out of the hospital he bought a truly outstanding 67 Mustang! Oh you got it another trip to the bar and going back home over the railroad overpass he drilled the concrete abutment at pretty high speed. One destroyed Mustang and he got another trip to the hospital but lived through it to torture more cars. Some folks really should not be allowed to drive! He was one of those!

    I have noticed that for 67 there was an Impala SS (with Impala on the car somewhere) and the SS427 like this car and (no Impala anywhere on the car) I have read you could have bought an Impala SS and a 427 engine and maybe came with the regular hood. Or bought an SS427 with this special hood. You may be just the guy to ask about this. My 2 questions are: does the SS427 option code include this hood and no Impala on the car? Or is there another reason for the Impala name not on this car and the special hood? I do know you could get the Impala SS with other engines . Thanks for all your videos. Keep up the great work you are doing.

      @MrZdvy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cstoreri No, it wasn’t mine. But you can tell by the black paint on the lower sections of the quarter panels. Obviously it should be body color all the way. Rust will start from the inside out, in areas where moisture gets trapped, which is always on the lower sections of the quarter panels, doors, fenders etc. What happens is the rust shows on the outside but the person owning the car doesn’t have the skills and/or money to repair it correctly. So they cut out the rust and fill it with bondo or something similar. Then the whole section(rust area) is painted black, sort of pretending it’s supposed to be like that. It’s an old used car dealer trick/hoax. Ofcourse the right fix would have been to replace the quarter panels.
