her best bet would be to leave cali entirely tbh. Unfortunately california prices are not small business friendly, and their state policies really hurt small businesses too. It's the main reason i didnt open mine there and chose to move elsewhere for better real estate and better tax policies. Small businesses nation wide are really struggling to stay afloat

I remember some years ago Julien had said, "Vegan sushi just isn't there yet." Now seeing how amazing this all looks and knowing that they're a struggling restaurant kinda breaks my heart. My best wishes go out to them. I wish I lived close by to try it out.

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of raw fish, this might be a sushi place I actually enjoy :')
I think she actually recognizes that Julien has some cooking skills even though he's a home chef, so she allows him to learn gently. I really enjoy that aspect!

There are so many things about this video that make me sob.
Pearl is so sweet and sincere, and she deserves everything. Her restaurant should be full every night. I live in South Africa, but if I were in the area, I'd take my family every week to support Pearl.
There's also something so sweet and tender about watching Julien make food gently and carefully after years of Aries kitchen. Literally brought a tear to my eye 🥹
Before I worked in the industry, I remember how anxious I would get in the kitchen, even just cooking for my family. Spending time in professional kitchens really helped me appreciate the slow, peaceful tranquility of home cooking. I no longer work in the industry, but cooking is my favorite way to relax now. Watching Juliens cooking videos is so fun in a "watching your little brother make a mess" kind of way, but seeing how careful and precise he can be is heartwarming.
That ending made me emotional, you can see how much love and care she puts in her kitchen and her art. I hope the restaurant gets to stay open for a long long time 💜

So much respect on Julien's side as far as referring to Pearl as Chef. I love watching The Bear. I've also been enjoying Kitchen Nightmares again. I've worked in every restaurant position but I've mostly been a waitress because I connect well with customers. But I love working in restaurants when FOH associates well with BOH staff!
