I wonder if Metro would put some electric Artic bus on the J line? The G line seems to have well enough electric artic bus (40 XFI + 5 BYD). I think it would be inevitable for Metro to order the BYD Artic models since there are only two electric Artic models XE60 and K11M in North America market. Nova Bus does not make electric Artic models.
Correct. Although the silver line will get BYD K9MD 40 footers which should be in service later this year. Metro ordered 95 of them. To add to artics being on the silver line that seems to happen only during certain occasions like during Metro Rail closures (I.e: Metro A or C Line) or during special events at staples center
@@MFPTransitVideos do you know how does the BYD artic perform on the G line so far? I heard they have more range than the NFI one. Will MTA add more order for these BYD Artic?
So far they’ve been performing alright they last longer than they used to when they first started this summer but so far the only BYDs they’re adding are the 95 K9MD units for the J Line
@@robloxtrainvideos9747not currently. But I can tell you this. Most of the time a BYD will run anywhere between 4:30 AM and 12 PM depending on the day.
These buses sound just like the TMC RTSes with the Allison V731 Transmission wow
Nice bus find! I wonder if they are gonna be adding local and rapid bus colors to these byd buses in the future
Nice video! 👌

No plug doors like the XE60?
Correct. Although the new 95 BYD K9MDs for the silver (J) Line will come with sliding doors
Ah I see, it’s interesting that Metro doesn’t have them on the K11Ms
@@thetransitspotteryup and neither do the K9Ms (10000-10004)
Do these have an exterior announcement?
Yes they do.
Did byde fix the problems they've been having with the buses?
I don’t think so. 19000 and 19004 so far are the only two units of five that run in revenue service but don’t last long lol

@@MFPTransitVideos byde bus company should be sent to Canada, Canada is better in building buses than USA, it's a fact.
@@MFPTransitVideos oh ok
Aren’t they 2020 models?
They are 2020 models but delivered in 2021
