    Very nice! You show that it's not always perfect when painting lures, but also how to overcome the imperfections. Thanks!

      @@mikemcelveen2973 Thanks Mike, as someone who is just learning this whole lure painting thing, I want to show it all as I am learning as I go and hopefully other people who are also maybe new to this fun hobby can gather some knowledge from my mistakes.

      @@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors Thanks Dale, I’m trying to build some inventory on 6-8 lures to put on my Etsy store ( which is not set up yet ) but I’m afraid these are not going to make the initial cut. Gonna start with the ones that have sold the best at my buddy Bobby’s shop and I think only 1 of these have sold, which I guess is better than some others that are all still on the wall. Seems like some of the simplest ones sell the best.

      @@RaggedEdgeLureWorks I would totally agree, we have more confidence on the ones that we know have sold, and same is true for my little tackle shop versus the Etsy store, the ones that sell best at the tackle shop are selling better on the Etsy store, I need to do a better job of advertising the Etsy shop as well, as you know I am always running behind and I need to slow down sometimes. K3eep up the great work brother, this channel is growing nicely, so awesome job there as well brother.

    Lookin Good Don, I like the way You use materials to do other patterns, That’s Great, I’ve only been painting crankbaits for about 2 years and a lot of trial and error too, I got a tip for You that I picked up by watching Clark’s Hill Custom Baits, he sprays Createx UVLS clear gloss on his baits as a protector when using 3d stencils, I took it a step further and spray my 3d stencils as well, and it helps from getting scratches on your baits, Enjoyed the Video, Keep on Painting

      @@douglasmcgraw1572Thanks for the tip Douglas I will definitely look into that. So much to learn but that is half the fun. On a different note, what do you use for a final clear coat on your lures ? I am not totally happy with how the True Coat 2 part epoxy holds up to heavy fishing. Thanks for watching.

      @@RaggedEdgeLureWorksHey Don, I use KBS Diamond Coat, You just dip the bait, use a small wire on the line tie at the bill, dip slowly, then add a drip wire on the tail, hang and let it air dry, Easy, I got the info from Jen at Jerkyl Baits, she’s the #1 in bait painting, she has a video on how to, on TH-cam, look her up

      @@douglasmcgraw1572 I am very familiar with Jen @ Jekyl Baits , she is amazing. My worry with using the KBS Diamond Coat is I have been told by another lure painter that the smell is very potent and I am doing this in the utility room of my house which is right off our main living area in our finished basement. What are your thoughts on the odor ? Is it gonna drive us out of the house….more importantly is it gonna drive my wife out of the house 😬. Also how long does it take to dry / cure ? Thanks for any info.

      @douglasmcgraw1572 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RaggedEdgeLureWorks Don, yes there is an odor, I have a carport outside and I built a drying rack/drip rack, once I have several baits painted then I dip and let them dry outside for that day then bring them inside that night, (to keep critters away from them) after that first day the odor is gone. KBS is so easy and quick, I can deal with using outdoors for a day, other epoxies with a brush leaves streaks and bubbles or use a UV light. KBS dries in 2-3 days for me, it’s longer cause I’m in Louisiana and the humidity is so high, they’re tacky after a day so I bring them in to finish.

      @@douglasmcgraw1572 I can see how that would work in Louisiana. My painting is really going to kick into gear during the winter months here in New Hampshire so putting them outside in the cold is a major issue. I need to come up with something though. Thanks for the feedback 👍
